In a video address to thousands of pro-life advocates gathered at the nation&#8217;s Capitol on Friday for the 53rd annual March for Life, President Donald Trump said his administration was bringing back faith in America.
Trump, who spoke at the March for Life back in 2020, submitted a taped message for march attendees this year that highlighted his appointment of Supreme Court judges who overturned Roe v. Wade and his push to end taxpayer funding for abortion. The president also noted his support for religious liberty protections and bringing faith back into the public square.
“Now, the work to rebuild a culture that supports life continues in every state, every community, and every part of our beautiful land,” Trump told attendees. “This is a battle that must be fought, must be won, not only in the corridors of power, but above all, in the hearts and souls of the people. That is why under the Trump administration, we&#8217;re strongly defending religious liberty. We&#8217;re bringing back faith in America. We&#8217;re bringing back God.”

Trump&#8217;s address comes as his administration has faced some criticism over its handling of abortion pill regulations and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-republicans-should-be-flexible-on-rule-that-bars-taxpayer-funded-abortions">comments</a> the president made on Republicans being flexible with the Hyde Amendment, a provision that bans taxpayer funding of abortion. In his speech and in a White House proclamation issued on Friday, Trump promised to continue fighting for &#8220;the eternal truth that every child is a gift from God.&#8221;
After Trump’s message played, Vice President JD Vance spoke to the crowd, highlighting multiple major pro-life policy announcements the administration rolled out this week.
“Building a culture of life requires persuasion, and that&#8217;s what&#8217;s so different about this moment compared to the moment that was dominated by the Supreme Court for 50 years,” Vance said. “We&#8217;re not trying to argue to the Supreme Court anymore. We are trying to argue to our fellow citizens, and we must build up that culture of life.”
Vance said that changing the culture would take a lot of time, energy, and money. He also said it would mean embracing policies that make it easier for Americans to have families.
In the lead-up to the march, the Trump administration announced multiple major pro-life policies including expanding the Mexico City policy to cut off funding for non-governmental groups that fund abortion, launching a review of whether Planned Parenthood illegally took tens of millions in COVID loans, ending funding for fetal tissue research, and taking action to protect the rights of medical professionals in Illinois to not refer for abortions.
The vice president also addressed criticism from some pro-life groups about the administration’s actions on the issue of abortion.
“I must address an elephant in the room,” Vance said, which he described as “a fear that some of you have that not enough progress has been made, that not enough has happened in the political arena, that we&#8217;re not going fast enough, that our politics have failed to answer the clarion call to life.&#8221;
Vance said that despite “debates within this movement,” there would be “open conversations about how best to use our political system to advance life, how prudential we must be in the cause of advancing human life.”

Dan Ryan, the executive director of the National Conservative Institute of Australia, says the “anti-hate” laws in particular are a serious invasion of Australian freedom of speech. According to Ryan, the new legal codes would allow the government to outlaw groups that have engaged in “hate crimes,” even if no other existing statute had been violated. Both sets of new laws ignore the real problems that led to the Bondi Beach attack. As Ryan says, “The underlying cause of what occurred in Bondi and the underlying cause of the sort of ethnic tensions that are playing out on the street has been the problems with our immigration program in Australia.”

Vice President JD Vance doesn&#8217;t believe there&#8217;s a need to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota for the time being, he told The Daily Wire on Thursday.
Vance touched down in Minneapolis, meeting with federal immigration officers to assess the chaos on the ground. For weeks following the fatal shooting of an ICE watch activist, left-wing agitators have followed federal agents arresting illegal immigrants across the Twin Cities trying to thwart their actions.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve tried to understand this as well as I possibly could, and my understanding is what invoking the Insurrection Act would allow the federal government to use the military for local law enforcement operations,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire&#8217;s Mary Margaret Olohan.
&#8220;Right now, we don&#8217;t think that we need that. Now, the president could change his mind, of course, things could get worse, but right now, we think that federal law enforcement officers can do the job of federal law enforcement. Now, what I do worry about &#8230; is if the chaos gets worse, if more and more ICE agents start getting assaulted, if other law enforcement officers start getting assaulted, that would be a real problem,&#8221; Vance said.
In response to the rising tensions, President Donald Trump floated using the Insurrection Act, which would allow him to deploy the military and federalize the National Guard, to stop “professional agitators and insurrectionists” from attacking federal agents. Talk of invoking the Insurrection Act came after a federal agent shot an illegal immigrant who hit the agent with a snow shovel and broom handle as he tried to evade arrest.
Last week, Trump said he didn&#8217;t &#8220;think there&#8217;s any reason right now&#8221; to use the 1807 law.

Vance said the onus is on the Minneapolis Police Department, which he said has stand-down orders preventing local officers from assisting federal immigration agents.
&#8220;But, again, we have so much federal law enforcement resources here right now, we have so many people here that we do not wanna have here. I do not want so many ICE officers in Minneapolis right now. I mean, good lord, it&#8217;s really freaking cold outside, but they&#8217;re here not even to enforce immigration laws, but to protect the people from the rioters. WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday, &#8220;ground zero&#8221; for the anti-ICE violence, protesting, and rioting.
Vance will first head to an industrial shipping facility in Toledo, Ohio, where he will deliver remarks on President Donald Trump&#8217;s commitment to lowering prices, increasing paychecks, and creating more jobs across the Midwest.
He will then head to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to hold a roundtable discussion with local leaders and community members, deliver remarks, and meet with ICE agents to &#8220;reinforce the White House’s unwavering support for federal immigration officials,&#8221; a White House official told The Daily Wire.
The White House believes Democrats in Minnesota have purposefully neglected the fraud in the state, undermining federal immigration authorities in their investigations into &#8220;criminal wrongdoing,&#8221; an official shared.
&#8220;Minnesota has become ground zero for attacks on ICE officials and illegal, violent anti-ICE protests,&#8221; that official said.
When Vance speaks in Minneapolis, he plans to highlight the administration&#8217;s &#8220;commitment to restoring law and order&#8221; in the city. He will point to the blue city&#8217;s sanctuary city policies and how they have &#8220;degraded public safety and endangered ICE officers,&#8221; the official shared.

The vice president will also celebrate the &#8220;essential work ICE agents have done to take dangerous, criminal illegal aliens off of America’s streets.&#8221;
The move comes after Vance, during a press briefing at the White House last week, announced a new position at the Justice Department: the Assistant Attorney General, focused on cracking down on fraud and abuse of taxpayer-funded programs.
“To make sure that we prosecute the bad guys and do it as swiftly and efficiently as possible … we are creating a new assistant attorney general position who will have nationwide jurisdiction over the issue of fraud,” Vance said from the podium in the White House briefing room. “Now, of course, that person’s efforts will start and focus primarily in Minnesota, but it is going to be a nationwide effort, because unfortunately, the American people have been defrauded in a very nationwide way.”
The vice president noted that the new position is part of the Trump administration&#8217;s plan to go after fraud in states like California, Minnesota, and Ohio.
“If you’re a young parent struggling to afford childcare in the United States of America, there are programs that we have to make it easier for your kids to get in daycare, for your kids to get in preschool,” Vance said at the time. “Those programs should go to American citizens, not be defrauded by Somali immigrants, and others.”

JD Vance Heads To Minneapolis To Meet With ICE Agents And Show Support

Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, are pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, the second lady announced on Tuesday.
The Vances put out a statement announcing that they are expecting their fourth child, a boy, to be born in July. The baby boy will join his three older siblings Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.
“We’re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July,” the <a href="https://x.com/slotus/status/2013712959608946721">announcement</a> posted to Usha Vance’s social media pages said.
“During this exciting and hectic time, we are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children,” it continued.
The vice president, 41, and his wife, 40, have been married since 2014. With the birth of their new son, the couple will have joined a small club of presidents and vice presidents to have had a child while in office.
The couple received congratulations from across the administration after the announcement.

&#8220;For me, it&#8217;s always been about troops,&#8221; Hawley explained, adding, &#8220;I talked to the president &#8230; I thank for the admin for the outreach. We are not going to occupy Venezuela. That&#8217;s good enough for me.&#8221;

Senator Todd Young (R-IN) also changed his vote prior to Wednesday, saying that he&#8217;d been convinced by Secretary of State Marco Rubio — who indicated a willingness to testify on the matter before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Rubio also said in a letter to Young that if the United States were to engage in &#8220;major military operations&#8221; in Venezuela, the administration would &#8220;seek congressional authorization in advance (circumstances permitting).&#8221;

The White House&#8217;s meeting with Denmark and Greenland on Wednesday did not change any minds on President Donald Trump&#8217;s push to acquire Greenland, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said.
Rasmussen spoke at a <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cn824zzp670t#player">press conference</a> alongside Greenlandic Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt after meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Denmark oversees Greenland&#8217;s defense while the territory is largely self-governing. In recent weeks, Trump has ramped up his push to make Greenland a territory of the United States for national security purposes.
The meeting on Wednesday was &#8220;frank and constructive,&#8221; but ultimately the sides agreed to disagree, with Denmark sticking firm to its &#8220;red lines,&#8221; according to Rasmussen.
&#8220;We, the Kingdom of Denmark, continue to believe that also the long-term security of Greenland can be ensured inside the current framework, the 1951 agreement on the defense of Greenland as well as the NATO treaty,&#8221; he said. &#8220;For us, ideas that would not respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the right of self-determination of the Greenlandic people are, of course, totally unacceptable.&#8221;
&#8220;We therefore still have a fundamental disagreement, but we also agree to disagree,&#8221; Rasmussen added.
Motzfeldt said that it remains important for Greenland to &#8220;strengthen our cooperation with the United States, but that doesn&#8217;t mean that we want to be owned by the United States.&#8221;
Denmark and Greenland agreed to continue the discussions to see &#8220;if we can find a common way forward,&#8221; the Danish foreign minister said. The discussions are expected to continue in the coming weeks. Rasmussen said he agreed with the Trump administration&#8217;s concerns about the security situation in the Arctic, but added that he does not see China and Russia representing an &#8220;instant threat.&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s no Chinese presence in Greenland, but there&#8217;s a concern: would that be the case in 10 or 20 years from now?&#8221; Rasmussen asked. &#8220;It will not because our Greenlandic friends have introduced investments &#8230; and Denmark is, by all means, on the right side of history.&#8221;

“NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES. Anything less than that is unacceptable,&#8221; Trump said.

The president made his early morning comments on Greenland as Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio prepare to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/denmark-greenland-face-vance-high-stakes-meeting-2026-01-14/">meet</a> with Denmark&#8217;s and Greenland&#8217;s foreign ministers at the White House on Wednesday to discuss the Trump administration&#8217;s efforts to acquire the large territory. Greenland is a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, with control over most domestic affairs, while Denmark has authority over foreign policy and defense.
&#8220;The United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security. It is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building. NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. IF WE DON’T, RUSSIA OR CHINA WILL, AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115893255826342514">wrote</a>.
&#8220;Militarily, without the vast power of the United States, much of which I built during my first term, and am now bringing to a new and even higher level, NATO would not be an effective force or deterrent — Not even close! Trump&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reveals-new-details-about-golden-dome-missile-defense-system-to-protect-u-s">Golden Dome for America</a>&#8221; would set up a missile defense system encircling the United States, a much larger version of  Israel&#8217;s &#8220;Iron Dome.&#8221; The president hopes to complete the $175 billion defense project by the end of his term. Trump said the &#8220;Golden Dome&#8221; would complete the &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; defense plan conceived by former President Ronald Reagan. The first $25 billion for the plan was appropriated under Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill.&#8221;
“Once fully constructed, the golden dome will be capable of intercepting missiles even if they are launched from other sides of the world, and even if they are launched from space, and we will have the best system ever built,” Trump said in May.
In the past month, Trump has focused much of his attention on acquiring Greenland, an idea he floated a few times last year. On December 21, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-taps-republican-governor-as-special-envoy-to-greenland-make-greenland-a-part-of-the-u-s">appointed</a> Louisiana Republican Governor Jeff Landry to serve as special envoy to Greenland, saying that Landry “understands how essential Greenland is to our National Security, and will strongly advance our Country’s Interests for the Safety, Security, and Survival of our Allies, and indeed, the World.”
Trump told reporters at the White House last week that the United States would &#8220;do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not.&#8221; He said the United States would take control of Greenland the “easy way” — by making a deal — or the “hard way,” which he didn’t elaborate on. The White House has not ruled out using military force to achieve its goals with Greenland.
On Sunday, the president again <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-u-s-must-acquire-greenland-to-stop-russia-or-china-from-taking-control">stressed</a> the importance of the United States taking control of Greenland, adding that he was &#8220;not going to let&#8221; Russia or China invade the territory. Trump said he &#8220;would love&#8221; to make a deal with Denmark, which oversees Greenland, to acquire the territory. Leaders in Denmark and Greenland, however, have opposed Trump&#8217;s push to take control of Greenland.

When it comes to the unrest in Minneapolis, the more you allow people to get away with this kind of behavior — direct threats, incitement to violence, blocking traffic, blocking law enforcement, even driving their cars into law enforcement — the more of it you&#8217;re going to get. People will become accustomed to the behavior and to the idea that it is acceptable.
Of course, now other bougie white ladies who have been doing the same thing are concluding from this incident that, well, maybe they shouldn&#8217;t.

You can tell how confused this woman is. She might be sincere, but she&#8217;s so confused.
She says the woman was trying to drive away. She wasn&#8217;t actually driving away. We now have all the video footage from all the angles. Even CNN is running it. The woman was clearly trying to obstruct federal law enforcement. And guess what? You don&#8217;t have a right to obstruct federal law enforcement, or local law enforcement, for that matter. You don&#8217;t have that right. You may think you have that right because Democrat politicians have lied to you and have encouraged this behavior and have allowed the anarchy to fester and are now largely responsible for that woman being killed. 
So let’s correct the record right now: You don&#8217;t have that right.

Spot on. This is exactly the right tone. 
We&#8217;re not saying, “That evil domestic terrorist woman, yeah we love that she&#8217;s dead!” We know, it’s sad. It&#8217;s sad that she was perhaps so brainwashed that she thought the ICE officers really were the Gestapo. Where did she get that from? She got it from cable news. She probably thought that illegal aliens have a right to be in this country. They don&#8217;t. But she has heard that from all the Democrat bullhorns. She&#8217;s heard that from anyone who says that illegal aliens are &#8220;undocumented Americans.&#8221; &#8220;Well, if they&#8217;re Americans, they have a right to be here.&#8221; They&#8217;re not Americans. That&#8217;s the point.
She probably thought these people were totally innocent. They&#8217;re not. 
She probably thought they&#8217;re not face-tattooed gangsters, they&#8217;re not defrauding the government. They&#8217;re all just little &#8220;abuelas&#8221; trying to peacefully make a pie in the kitchen when the Gestapo suddenly shows up. No — she was brainwashed.
And she betrayed her family. She betrayed her daughter. She may not have meant to — I don&#8217;t doubt that — but she did. And why? To go out there, not just for a stupid cause, but for such an unjust cause? And leave your kid without a mother? I feel sorry for this woman that her mind would be so scrambled to get to that point. 
But it doesn&#8217;t change the fact that it was all wrong. In fact, that should impel you to want to set the record straight, which is what JD does when it comes to the news media.

A new position will be created by the Justice Department to target fraud in Minnesota and across the country, Vice President JD Vance said Thursday.
Vance said that a new assistant attorney general position out of the Justice Department would be formed to focus on fraud in Minnesota. The announcement comes as there have been allegations of widespread fraud in Minnesota from fake daycare centers to other welfare fraud schemes.
“To make sure that we prosecute the bad guys and do it as swiftly and efficiently as possible &#8230; we are creating a new assistant attorney general position who will have nationwide jurisdiction over the issue of fraud,” Vance said at a press briefing. “Now, of course, that person&#8217;s efforts will start and focus primarily in Minnesota, but it is going to be a nationwide effort, because unfortunately, the American people have been defrauded in a very nationwide way.”

Vance said the new position was part of the administration’s interagency efforts to go after fraud he said was present in states like California, Minnesota, and Ohio.
“If you&#8217;re a young parent struggling to afford childcare in the United States of America, there are programs that we have to make it easier for your kids to get in daycare, for your kids to get in preschool,” Vance said. “Those programs should go to American citizens, not be defrauded by Somali immigrants, and others.”
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said he welcomed the announcement from Vance.

Allegations of fraud in Minnesota, especially perpetrated by Somali immigrants in Minneapolis, have been the focus of the Trump administration in recent weeks, with federal law enforcement surging to the area. Last week, the Department of Health and Human Services paused all childcare payments to the state of Minnesota while it investigated allegations that millions of taxpayer dollars have been funneled to fraudulent daycares across the state throughout the past ten years.

As a result, 6,900 borrowers in Minnesota were suspended from participating in SBA loan programs and could face further punishment.

Vance explained that a &#8220;whole host of American competitors&#8221; had been invited in to do business and set up shop in Venezuela, bringing additional threats to the United States into the western hemisphere and posing a very real danger to American national security.
&#8220;They&#8217;ve used their own energy money to fund this terrible narco-terrorism against the United States of America,&#8221; Vance continued. &#8220;What the president did — and really, the entire team made possible — is to cut off that flow of energy money to narco-terrorists, to then of course cut off the amount of narco-terrorism being imported into the United States of America. I think it&#8217;s going to save lives, it&#8217;s going to mean cheaper gas and energy prices for Americans, and maybe most importantly, it&#8217;s going to mean that we have more control over the energy resources that exist in the world.&#8221;
With regard to the Saturday mission to capture Maduro, Vance said that he&#8217;d initially been skeptical that such a precision operation could be carried out — but was happy to have been proven wrong: &#8220;It was a very important operation. It was carried out flawlessly &#8230; I think it will create great benefits for the American people.&#8221;
