<p>A former Biden aide expressed her &#8220;concern&#8221; on Monday after President Donald Trump did not appear publicly for several days, sparking rumors across social media that he was unwell or even dead.</p>
<p>Meghan Hays, who served as a special assistant to former President Joe Biden, said that Trump&#8217;s absence from the public eye coupled with a series of posts on his Truth Social platform was proof that the White House was not being &#8220;transparent&#8221; about whether or not the president was in good health.</p>

<p>Hays appeared on Monday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The Lead&#8221; on CNN, where she told host Phil Mattingly that Trump&#8217;s behavior was &#8220;disconcerting&#8221; and &#8220;concerning&#8221; — despite the fact that she herself had worked in a White House that had actively hidden Biden from both the press and the public.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know, I think that everyone would like to know. I think that it’s really disconcerting,&#8221; she said of Trump&#8217;s weekend spent firing off a few social media posts but otherwise staying away from the press and the public. &#8220;The president has been very vocal with press all the time. I think in August, he spent 26 days doing public events or talking to press. So to go down for 6 days and just have a slew of Truth Social posts that are very chaotic and people can’t follow all of them — it’s very concerning, and I think that people — it could be raising questions.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The president could just be taking a few days down in August — which is normal for presidents to do. Or there could be actually something wrong. The problem is we don’t know. And they’re not being transparent about it,&#8221; she argued.</p>
<p>Mattingly reeled the segment back in, saying that he wasn&#8217;t &#8220;totally opposed&#8221; to Trump &#8220;going dark for a couple of days,&#8221; especially since, as Hays had noted, he had been going nonstop for the entire month of August.</p>
<p>The rumors of President Trump&#8217;s health were put to rest on Tuesday when the president spoke live at the White House about the new location for Space Command headquarters &#8212; Huntsville, Alabama.</p>
