The Chosen” dropped a fiery new trailer on Thursday that gives fans a sneak peek at what to expect in the upcoming episodes in Season 4, which will be shown in theaters.

In the one-minute plus trailer — which explores the life of Jesus through those who were closest to him — sees Jesus (played by Jonathan Roumie) struggling with the fact that even more difficult times are in store for him and his followers.

“The human desire to avoid difficult news sometimes makes one deaf,” Roumie’s character explains in the clip. “I speak the words of my Father in Heaven and the religious leaders call it blasphemy.”

“My own followers, they ask for earthly things, prestige,” he added. “They take offense when I show humility, indifference to the powers of this world.”

“Jesus’ message—in word and deed—stirs up even greater devotion and division,” the post on X with the clip read. “Even among his closest followers. Watch as the story accelerates rapidly toward its inescapable conclusion. Season 4, Episodes 4-6 are in theaters now.”

Hours earlier, “The Chosen” dropped another sneak peek in which Jesus makes it clear “the time has come” to head south to Jerusalem.

“SNEAK PEEK: Little James and Thaddeus seem to be putting the pieces together about what’s to come—and it doesn’t look good,” the post on X read. “You can see what happens next when Season 4, Episodes 4-6 hit theaters this Thursday.”

Speaking about the new season, coming first exclusively to the big screen, creator and director Dallas Jenkins previously said, “Last year we dipped our toes in the water by releasing a few episodes in theaters. The response was so strong, and Season Four is so big, that we knew we and Fathom had to give viewers the theatrical experience for all eight episodes.”

“We’re excited to make history with The Chosen,” Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events, said. “This collaboration has been such an amazing experience! Watching the fans come out in such large numbers to watch the story of Jesus on the big screen has been both informative and heartwarming. We look forward to bringing Season 4 to theaters so those fans can continue to share this story together.”

The first three episodes of Season 4 hit theaters February 1 and ran for two weeks. Now fans will have two weeks to catch the next three episodes, 4-6, where they will play on the big screen until February 28. The conclusion of this season will hit theaters on February 29, when fans can catch the last two episodes, 7-8, until March 10.

“The Chosen” Season 4 is distributed by Fathom Events. Tickets can be purchased here.
