<p>&#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-chosen-reveals-entire-next-season-will-be-released-first-in-theaters-drops-emotional-trailer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Chosen</a>&#8221; creator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-chosen-scores-extended-theatrical-release-following-overwhelming-response-for-finale-tickets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dallas Jenkins</a> said both &#8220;extreme pain and sadness&#8221; and also &#8220;some extreme joy&#8221; is what fans can expect for Season 4 when it hits theaters first exclusively in February.</p>
<p>The creator of the popular faith-based series, which explores the life of Jesus through those who were closest to him, said that everyone knew that the series was building toward Christ&#8217;s crucifixion, calling the new season an &#8220;increasingly heavy&#8221; time for Jesus and his followers.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re getting closer and closer to what we know is coming,&#8221; Jenkins told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/the-chosen-creator-dallas-jenkins-says-extreme-pain-sadness-biblical-shows-4th-season" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. &#8220;There&#8217;s some extreme pain and sadness that&#8217;s coming soon in future seasons.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And of course, there&#8217;s also some extreme joy that&#8217;s coming,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But on the way there, Jesus is getting increasingly sad because of the fact that things are getting increasingly heavy.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Not just because we know that he&#8217;s going to suffer, but he&#8217;s sad because the followers around him and the city that is the holy city, the city that is the birthplace of our faith, doesn&#8217;t get it,&#8221; Jenkins continued.</p>
<p>The trailer for season four recently dropped and clips of actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-chosen-and-jesus-revolution-star-jonathan-roumies-career-has-exploded-since-surrendering-to-god" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jonathan Roumie</a>, who plays Jesus, show him shedding tears, something the show&#8217;s creator is &#8220;an important part of the story.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;Now, I will say also there&#8217;s lots of joy, there&#8217;s lots of laughter, there&#8217;s lots of miracles that we get to experience, which is one of the reasons why we want people to see this on the big screen and see this together,&#8221; Jenkins said. &#8220;But season 4 is a time where the fact that the people around Jesus just aren&#8217;t quite getting it and the reason that he&#8217;s here does start to get bigger and more important in his ministry.&#8221;</p>
<p>In a post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CyuQo0lIlmn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>, Jenkins wrote that the new season is &#8220;heavy and easily our deepest, most challenging, and most mature season yet. And this teaser reflects that. But I and the team agree … it&#8217;s our best.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We poured our hearts out for this season,&#8221; the message added. &#8220;There are more trailers to come, but I wanted to give you an early look at what’s coming. I can&#8217;t wait to show you more.&#8221;</p>
<p>Starting in 2024 — following the release of three episodes of season three on the big screen last year — the first three episodes of season four will hit theaters starting February 1, 2024, and run for two weeks. It will be followed by a release on February 15 of the next three episodes, 4-6. The conclusion will hit the big screen on February 29, when fans can catch the last two episodes, 7-8.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Chosen&#8221; Season 4 will be distributed by Fathom Events.</p>
