Daily Wire host Matt Walsh underscored the media bias surrounding his groundbreaking documentary “What is a Woman?” in one tweet posted Saturday.
Walsh posted a screenshot of the audience and critic review scores of the film, noting that not a single legacy media publication even dared to review the “What is a Woman?” — despite the documentary racking up tremendous viewership.
“The film has been seen by millions of people but still only six movie critics have dared to review it,” Walsh posted. “And none of them are from major mainstream publications.”
The tweet captures a screenshot of the film’s Rotten Tomato scores. With the general audience, over 5,000 reviews landed the film at a high 96%. But there are only six reviews from critics, totaling a score of 83%.

The Daily Wire tweet that features the film has already been viewed more than 157 million times after it was posted Thursday night. Yet, none of the top critics have reviewed it, including critics from The Atlantic, The Boston Globe, NPR, BuzzFeed News, Wall Street Journal, Entertainment Weekly, Variety, and many more. Notably, many of those same outlets have covered the buzz and related news surrounding “What is a Woman?”
The Daily Wire’s initial plan was to stream “What is a Woman?” for free via Twitter for 24 hours. But due to Twitter’s initial decision to censor the film over so-called “misgendering,” The Daily Wire is now streaming the doc all through this weekend.

Twitter first labeled the documentary as “hateful conduct” and restricted its visibility, but a few hours before its release, Twitter CEO Elon Musk took to the platform to insist that the censorship had been a mistake. At issue was a father referring to his own daughter with feminine pronouns despite her identifying as transgender, and a storeowner addressing a hulking city councilman who also claimed to be female with a masculine pronoun.
“This behavior by Twitter corporate directly opposes [Musk’s] commitment to free speech, and I sincerely hope he does something about it,” Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said at the time.
By Friday morning, Twitter’s tag restricting the visibility of “What is a Woman?” was removed, allowing Twitter users to like and retweet the documentary, and Musk retweeted the film to his 140 million followers.

Shapiro later thanked Musk for the reversal. “Thanks, [Elon Musk]!” he wrote. “Overnight, visibility limits on the movie have been removed. Elon continues to work to make good on his pledge to keep Twitter an open platform!”
