Selena Gomez did more than just hint that her music career is coming to an end when she said she’s “tired” of music and was always really more interested in acting.
The 31-year-old singer/actress made an appearance in the upcoming January 7 episode of the “Smartless” podcast, and Gomez talked about how she has “one more album” in her before she closes the door on her singing career, E! News reported.
“I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun,” the pop singer said. “But I was doing my TV show [‘Wizards of Waverly Place’] at the same time, and I just found it really fun, so I just kept going.”

“But the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, ‘I would like to find something to just settle on,'” she added. “I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting. I am gonna wanna chill because I’m tired.”
“Disney is, it’s safe to say, a machine and, in a way, forcefully requires that I know how to sing so I could sing the theme song [of a show],” Gomez continued. “They know how to package someone and make it a whole triple threat thing. I don’t think I’m the best singer. But I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs.”
The last album the Disney star released was in 2021 with Revelacion, the outlet noted. It came following her solo albums Rare in 2020, Revival in 2015, and her debut album Stars Dance in 2013.
Gomez-who is probably best known for her role in the popular Disney channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” got her start in acting as a child on “Barney” in 2002, the outlet noted.
Most recently, she earned two Emmy nominations for her comedy series “Only Murders In The Building“ alongside costars Martin Short and Steve Martin.
