An illegal immigrant and another man have been charged with kidnapping and raping an autistic woman.
The woman, 22 years old, had run away from her home on April 15 in Greene County, Missouri, after being distressed about something, when the two men, 25-year-old Luis Arnold Lopez-Lara (the illegal alien) and 23-year-old Helmer Alexander Erazo, allegedly lured her into their mobile home with alcohol and cat-calls.
She was allegedly held captive in the mobile home for three days, where Lopez-Lara sexually assaulted her numerous times and Erazo threatened to murder her if she tried to leave. The woman claimed she was barely given any sustenance and stated that she was inebriated from the beer given to her by the men.
Eventually, the victim’s family found her at the mobile home on April 17. Both Lopez-Lara and Erazo have been arrested and face charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse and rape. Lopez-Lara is being held without bond; Erazo has a bond of $150,000.
According to reports, two other men may face charges as well, although officials have yet to reveal any specifics about the potential charges.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that Lopez-Lara had been residing in the United States illegally.
Several other sexual assault cases involving illegal immigrants have made headlines recently, including the case of Oscar Perez-Rangel, who was in the country illegally, despite a prior deportation, and was charged this month with sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl five times at a home daycare. Within days of that story breaking, illegal immigrant Sergio Leodan Morales Soto was charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl in Maryland.
