Despite facing a massive surge in attacks and smears, federal immigration agents were busy making heroic rescues that saved lives in 2025.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers faced a 1,347% surge in assaults and an 8,000% increase in death threats this year as left-wing activists and Democratic politicians attacked them for their role in carrying out President Donald Trump’s mass deportation effort.
ICE officers employed their training in 2025 to not only make arrests, but also to provide aid as first responders when lives were on the line this year.
“We get the same training as everyone else, [to include] CPR and active shooter training,” an agency source told The Daily Wire.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told The Daily Wire that it’s part of a broader “responsibility” agents have to “serve” their communities.
“Every day, ERO [Enforcement and Removal Operations] officers show up knowing the risks they face — and they choose to serve anyway,” Lyons said in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.
“Courage is measured by actions, not words, and throughout the year, officers across the agency demonstrated professionalism, restraint and courage in moments that demanded all three,” Lyons said.

ICE Officers Save Victim From Burning Car
ICE officers from Denver’s elite Special Response Team who were driving to an agency facility in Illinois in September spotted a near-deadly collision involving a semi-truck and three other cars. They quickly responded to save one of the victims, who they found unconscious, bloodied, and trapped in his burning vehicle.

The officers broke the car’s window and pulled the man to safety before his car became fully engulfed by the blaze. They then administered first aid as they waited for EMTs to arrive.
During the rescue, some of the officers suffered from smoke inhalation and lacerations.
ICE Officer Aids Shooting Victim In Philadelphia
An ICE deportation officer was out on a raid in Philadelphia in October when he heard multiple gunshots and spotted three kids fleeing.
The officer spotted the victim, who’d been shot in his left thigh, and assisted in applying a tourniquet to the wound.
ICE Officer In Dallas Rescues Driver Of Overturned Truck
When ICE officers in Dallas observed a pickup truck lose a tire, roll over seven times, and land upside down on April 26, they jumped into action.
The officers, alongside two bystanders, successfully pried open the truck to save the driver.

ICE officers in Philadelphia rescued a driver who veered off the road before striking a tree on July 11. They also extinguished an engine fire while waiting for emergency responders to respond.
Off-Duty ICE Officer Administers Lifesaving Aid To Wounded Man
An off-duty ICE officer in Nuevo, California, helped a man who suffered a neck wound while instructing his son to call 911 in October. The officer used his own first-aid kit and training to control the bleeding and stabilize the man before emergency responders arrived.
