<p>Federal immigration agents will descend upon two new states as part of a continued operation to nab Somali illegal immigrants, sources familiar with the operation told The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>Over 200 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers will deploy from across the country to Kansas and Ohio to make arrests, according to a federal law enforcement source.</p>
<p>The latest deployment comes as the Trump administration continues to target Somali illegal immigrants following reports of a massive fraud scheme in Minnesota. The fraudsters, many of whom were Somali, stole billions from state welfare programs, funneling the cash through fake nonprofits and shell companies back to Somalia — and even Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab, City Journal <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> last month.</p>
<p>The Trump administration responded by deploying more than 100 ICE officers to Minneapolis with orders to scoop up hundreds of illegal immigrants from Somalia who already have deportation orders.</p>
<p>ICE was soon met with condemnation from local leaders in Minnesota, including Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who pledged to support the Somali community in his city and to not cooperate with federal immigration agents.</p>
<p>The operation yielded more than 400 arrests, according to the Department of Homeland Security.</p>
<p>DHS didn&#8217;t confirm or deny the latest plans.</p>
<p>&#8220;Every day, ICE enforces the laws of the nation across the country. What makes someone a target of ICE is not their race or ethnicity, but the fact that they are in the country illegally. We do not discuss future or potential operations,&#8221; Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.</p>

<p>Unlike Minneapolis, both Kansas and Ohio aren&#8217;t considered sanctuary states. In 2022, Kansas enacted legislation to ban sanctuary cities in the state.</p>
<p>Ohio is home to the second largest Somali community in the United States.</p>

<p>President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he ordered &#8220;a total and complete blockade&#8221; of sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela.</p>
<p>Trump made the announcement after the United States government seized a Venezuelan oil tanker last Wednesday, and as the president has ramped up a pressure campaign targeting Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Now, the president has zeroed in on Venezuela&#8217;s oil industry, its main source of funding.</p>
<p>&#8220;Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America. It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the United States of America all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115731908387416458">wrote</a> on Truth Social Tuesday night.</p>

<p>Roughly 80% of Venezuelan oil exports go to Chinese buyers, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/11/world/americas/oil-tanker-venezuela-economy-chevron.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The New York Times.</p>
<p>Chevron operates in Venezuela using a waiver from the Treasury Department that allows the company to conduct business with  Venezuela’s state-owned oil giant PDVSA to develop the country’s massive oil reserves.</p>
<p>Chevron gives a portion of its oil to the Venezuelan government in order to drill in the South American country.</p>
<p>Chevron responded to Trump&#8217;s latest actions Tuesday evening, saying “operations in Venezuela continue without disruption and in full compliance with laws and regulations applicable to its business, as well as the sanctions frameworks provided for by the U.S. government,” <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/12/16/us/trump-news#trump-blockade-venezuela-oil-tankers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The New York Times.</p>
<p>For months, the Trump administration has focused its efforts on destroying alleged drug boats off the Venezuelan coast.</p>
<p>The U.S. military has taken out over 20 alleged boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean as part of the Trump administration’s larger campaign to destabilize the region and take out the cartels operating there.</p>
<p>The Trump administration has accused Maduro of leading Venezuela’s Cartel de los Soles and supporting the Tren de Aragua prison gang, placing a $50 million bounty on information that leads to the socialist leader&#8217;s arrest.</p>
<p>The president of Belarus has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/russian-ally-offers-maduro-a-way-out-as-u-s-ramps-up-pressure">offered</a> Maduro refuge in his country if he decides to cave to the pressure.</p>

Trump Orders ‘Complete Blockade’ Of Sanctioned Oil Tankers Moving In And Out Of Venezuela

<p>President Donald Trump expanded his travel ban to include five additional countries following a wave of terror attacks across the globe.</p>
<p>Trump applied travel restrictions to Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen, and heightened restrictions on visitors from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela in June.</p>
<p>He expanded the ban Tuesday to include Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, and Syria, according to the White House. Travelers with documents from the Palestinian authority will also be banned from entry.</p>
<p>&#8220;The United States must exercise extreme vigilance during the visa-issuance and immigration processes to identify, prior to their admission or entry into the United States, foreign nationals who intend to harm Americans or our national interests,&#8221; the president&#8217;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/12/restricting-and-limiting-the-entry-of-foreign-nationals-to-protect-the-security-of-the-united-states/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proclamation</a> states.</p>
<p>&#8220;The United States Government must ensure that admitted aliens do not intend to threaten its citizens; undermine or destabilize its culture, government, institutions, or founding principles; or advocate for, aid, or support designated foreign terrorists or other threats to our national security,&#8221; it adds.</p>
<p>It comes just days after a series of devastating terror attacks. The most recent of the attacks occurred in Sydney, Australia, where a father and son inspired by ISIS opened fire on Jewish community members celebrating Hanukkah on the beach, killing 15 individuals.</p>
<p>On Saturday, it emerged that two U.S. Army soldiers and a civilian interpreter — also American — had been killed in Syria by ISIS.</p>
<p>Last month, Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, who entered the U.S. in 2021 as part of President Joe Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome,” allegedly shot two National Guardsmen who were deployed to Washington, D.C., as part of the Trump administration’s crime crackdown.</p>
<p>One of the soldiers, Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of the West Virginia National Guard, tragically succumbed to her injuries a day after the attack. Her colleague, West Virginia National Guardsman Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still recovering from his injuries.</p>

Trump Expands Travel Ban To Include Palestinians And Others Amid Wave Of Global Terror Attacks

<p>President Donald Trump on Monday announced the classification of illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction, opening the door for the federal government to go even harder against the drug cartels.</p>
<p>Trump signed the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/12/designating-fentanyl-as-a-weapon-of-mass-destruction/">executive order</a>, enhancing penalties for fentanyl traffickers and tasking the Department of War with countering the cartels producing the lethal narcotic.</p>
<p>&#8220;No bomb does what this is doing. 200,000 to 300,000 people die every year that we know of, so we&#8217;re formally classifying fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction,&#8221; Trump said while awarding troops with medals for securing the southern border on Monday.</p>

<p>Trump&#8217;s former acting Drug Enforcement Administrator, Derek Maltz, told The Daily Wire that the designation has been a long time coming and that it will shut down the cartels&#8217; financing &#8220;at a new level.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said that it will allow the Department of War to &#8220;use all capabilities, authorities and expertise to up the game at a new level.&#8221;</p>
<p>The designation will also open the door for the federal government to take further actions when it comes to other and even more deadly drugs that have emerged in the illicit market.</p>
<p>&#8220;With this new designation, they will also be able to add the additional deadly chemical substances like nitazenes class of poison being made in adversarial labs to kill our citizens,&#8221; Maltz said in reference to a newly emerging synthetic narcotic up to 40 times deadlier than fentanyl.</p>
<p>Two milligrams of fentanyl, which is equivalent to 10 to 15 grains of salt, is enough to kill the average adult.</p>
<p>The Trump administration has already taken steps to stop the flow of illicit drugs by designating certain drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and carrying out nearly 20 strikes against alleged trafficking vessels off the coast of Venezuela.</p>

‘No Bomb Does What This Is Doing’: Trump To Classify Fentanyl As WMD

<p>Members of a pro-Palestinian radical leftist organization who allegedly planned to carry out a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leftist-pro-palestinian-groups-new-years-eve-bombing-plot-foiled-by-feds?author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Leftist+Pro-Palestinian+Group%E2%80%99s+New+Year%E2%80%99s+Eve+Bombing+Plot+Foiled+By+Feds">series of bombings</a> in California beginning on New Year’s Eve also plotted to attack Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, according to an affidavit obtained by The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>Authorities arrested Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai around December 12 in Lucerne Valley, California, where they were allegedly planning to test explosive devices in preparation for their future attacks. They now each face charges of conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.</p>
<p>Both Page and Carroll allegedly discussed plans to target ICE agents and their vehicles with pipe bombs starting in January or February, according to the affidavit. Their future attack plans “would take some of them [ICE agents] out and scare the rest of them,” Carroll said.</p>
<p>The four accused are alleged members of the “Turtle Island Liberation Front,” which officials describe as anti-government and anti-capitalist. They allegedly planned to simultaneously bomb five sites in Los Angeles and Orange County at midnight on New Year’s Eve.</p>
<p>The group arranged to place backpacks with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) inside them at the various locations, which included two American companies, according to the court documents.</p>
<p>“After an intense investigation, the Department of Justice, working with our @FBI, prevented what would have been a massive and horrific terror plot in the Central District of California (Orange County and Los Angeles),” Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on X Monday.</p>

<p>Since the Trump administration commenced its mass deportation campaign, ICE has faced an 8,000% surge in death threats and a more than 1,100% jump in assaults, according to the Department of Homeland Security.</p>
<p>A shooter opened fire on a Texas ICE facility in September, killing two detainees and himself as he tried to target federal officers.</p>
<p>A group of alleged Antifa anarchists lured federal agents outside of a nearby facility on July 4 using fireworks before firing off bullets, resulting in one local officer being injured.</p>

Radical Leftist Group Accused Of Plotting New Year’s Eve Bombings Also Had Plans To Attack ICE

<p>An Obama-appointed judge is facing mounting backlash for praising an illegal immigrant who raped a woman with cerebral palsy — and now he could be walking free sooner than expected.</p>
<p>Honduran Edys Renan Membreño Díaz, 30, who entered the United States illegally seven times, pulled a woman with cerebral palsy and cognitive delays into the laundry room of her apartment building before sodomizing and raping her, <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2025/12/12/immigrants-fate-detroit-exposes-federal-fight-between-judge-judith-levy-doj-u-s-attorney-detroit/87369743007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The Detroit News.</p>
<p>U.S. District Judge Judith Levy spared the illegal immigrant an additional two years in prison, calling him an “ambassador for living up to our immigration restrictions,” the outlet reported.</p>
<p>Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the judge&#8217;s decision showed &#8220;unspeakable depravity,&#8221; calling it &#8220;truly wicked.&#8221;</p>
<p>Membreño Díaz was sentenced three years ago and could now walk free as soon as July 2028, according to The Detroit News. Federal prosecutors, however, requested two additional years on his sentence for his immigration crimes.</p>
<p>But Levy didn&#8217;t budge, deciding that the five months he spent in federal custody were enough. She also lauded Membreño Díaz as a model immigrant.</p>
<p>“I usually have almost no hope that a prosecution of this nature will discourage other people but in your unique case, you have expressed that you will be an ambassador for living up to our immigration restrictions and that you will communicate your experience to people back in Honduras and discourage them from coming here without documentation,” Levy said during his sentencing in August.</p>
<p>Prosecutors appealed the judge&#8217;s decision in October, requesting a resentencing.</p>
<p>&#8220;It is rare for the government to appeal a sentence as substantively unreasonable, but doing so is warranted here,&#8221; Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan Sweeney Bean wrote, according to The Detroit News.</p>
<p>&#8220;Oddly, the district court spun (Díaz&#8217;s) repeated illegal entries in his favor, commending his family devotion and willingness to perform work that it claimed Americans find undesirable,&#8221; the prosecutor added. &#8220;And it gave virtually no weight to his violent sex crimes.&#8221;</p>

<p>The illegal immigrant pleaded guilty to three sex crimes and was sentenced to 6-15 years in a Michigan prison in October 2022.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was drunk, and I apologize to everybody, to all the American citizens. I wish to go back to my country and not to come back to the United States and to advise other people to not come here illegally and, if they do, to come here legally so they don&#8217;t pay the consequences that I am facing being incarcerated,&#8221; Díaz told the judge in August, according to The Detroit News.</p>
<p>Levy praised the illegal immigrant for fessing up.</p>
<p>&#8220;I agree that that&#8217;s a horrible crime. &#8230; You&#8217;ve taken responsibility for that, expressed remorse for that and you are serving a lengthy state sentence as punishment for that conduct,&#8221; Levy said.</p>
<p>&#8220;So I commend you for supporting your family, for expressing your devotion to them and for working here in the United States in jobs that Americans apparently do not want to work in and certainly not for the wages that were undoubtedly abusive of your work for them,&#8221; the judge said.</p>
<p>&#8220;&#8230;I see &#8230; somebody who is stepping forward to take responsibility and to gain insight into what led you to commit that crime of sexual assault and this one of illegal reentry,&#8221; Levy said.</p>
