Fox News host Harris Faulkner panned Vice President Kamala Harris’ NBC interview during Thursday’s broadcast of “Outnumbered,” saying it was “embarrassing” that the former California Attorney General seemed so unprepared for even the most basic questions.

Faulkner responded to a clip of the vice president’s interview, during which Harris appeared to struggle with anchor Craig Melvin’s questions about the administration’s efforts to make COVID-19 testing more accessible and ultimately suggested that people use Google to get accurate testing information.

“I want my name back,” Faulkner began. “Every time people say Harris, I have to definitively say – I’m like no, no, no, it’s Kamala…I’m not joking about that. But this is embarrassing. She was an attorney general and she’s not prepared for basic questions from MSNBC and NBC. She’s not prepared. She is the defendant that she always hoped she’d get, where the questions it would just leave that person befuddled.”

Faulkner went on to ask whether Harris’ apparent ignorance might be intentional, wondering aloud whether it might just be a “narrative or spin” that was simply failing to resonate in the way it was intended to.

“I don’t get it. Unless it is some sort of a narrative or spin that we are missing. Is this behavior on purpose?” Faulkner asked. “Like Craig Melvin or whomever is sitting across from her, don’t you get it? Don’t you get that what we are doing is we are telling people that the tests are on the way. Who doesn’t know it’s 500 million? You don’t even have to watch TV for that. Half a billion of anything that this administration would bring online to people’s houses, you would know about. Whether you are the vice president or not. Is it feigned or is it sincere ignorance on such a great point? And I don’t relish saying that, she is the Vice President of the United States. She wasn’t ready. When will she be ready?”

The panel cut to another clip of Harris’ interview, showing Melvin pressing the vice president on the home tests President Joe Biden had promised.

“The 500 million tests that have been ordered that are going to be sent to every American, do we know when those are going out?” Melvin asked.

“Shortly. They’re going to go out shortly —” Harris replied, and Melvin interrupted: “Next week?”

“They’ve been ordered, we — I have to look at the current information, I think it’s going to be by next week, but soon, absolutely soon and it’s a matter of urgency for us,” Harris added.

“Should we have done that sooner?” Melvin pressed.

“We are doing it,” Harris insisted.

“But should we have done it sooner?” Melvin asked again.

“We are doing it,” Harris repeated.

“It seems like every question that she gets in any interview, her automatic knee-jerk response is this petulant defensiveness when this is supposed to be our vice president,” co-host Emily Compagno responded, saying that the vice president seemed like a hostile defendant on the stand on court.
