‘I Think We Have A Deal’: Trump Optimistic About End To Gaza War

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he thought Israel and Hamas were nearing a deal that could bring an end to the war in Gaza.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday, Trump said, “It’s looking like we have a deal on Gaza, and we’ll let you know. I think it’s a deal that will get the hostages back. It’s going to be a deal that will end the war … It’s going to be peace. I think we have a deal.”

Trump followed that with a post to his Truth Social platform, where he said, “I am pleased to report that we are having very inspired and productive discussions with the Middle Eastern Community concerning Gaza. Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement.”

“All of the Countries within the Region are involved, Hamas is very much aware of these discussions, and Israel has been informed at all levels, including Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu,” he continued. “There is more Goodwill and Enthusiasm for getting a Deal done, after so many decades, than I have ever seen before. Everyone is excited to put this period of Death and Darkness behind them. It is an Honor to be a part of this Negotiation. We must get the Hostages back, and get a PERMANENT AND LONGLASTING PEACE!”

The potential agreement, brokered by the United States, seeks to end the bloodshed that began when Hamas terrorists crossed the border into Israel on October 7, 2023, and slaughtered more than 1200 men, women, and children — some of whom were attending an outdoor music festival at the time.

In addition, Hamas operatives tortured and raped many women and young girls — and then took hundreds more hostage when they returned to Gaza. Some of the hostages have been returned alive and some have had their bodies returned to Israel through previously negotiated agreements, but President Trump has said that any forthcoming deal would have to include all remaining hostages.

“Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!” Trump said at the time.
