<p style="font-weight: 400;">Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz, on fire after President Donald Trump&#8217;s address to Congress on Tuesday night, lambasted the Democrats for their refusal to stand and applaud, with one exception.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Tonight was incredible. This is the fifth State of the Union address I’ve seen Trump give; it was by far his best,&#8221; Cruz told Fox News&#8217;s Sean Hannity. &#8220;We’re just over a month into it, and he had a litany of victories that we’ve already won, one after the other after the other. I thought he was joyful. I thought he was forward-looking. I thought he had the promise of America front and center.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Then, Cruz segued to the Democrats and their hostile response: &#8220;And I gotta say the contrast — I have never seen such a disgraceful display as the Democrats put on. I’ve been to 13 State of the Union addresses altogether since I’ve been in the Senate; I’ve been to every one; I’ve never missed one.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;It started from the moment he walked in and was introduced, the President of the United States,&#8221; he elaborated. &#8220;Not a single Democrat stood, not a single Democrat applauded. Not one. I’ve never seen that happen.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Every time Joe Biden walked into that chamber and they introduced him as president of the United States, I stood my butt up and I clapped,&#8221; he recalled. &#8220;Every time Barack Obama walked in, I stood up and clapped. Even when I couldn’t stand their policies, even when I was horrified at what they were doing, I respect the office of President of the United States and I respect the American people.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;The contempt those Democrats had; they wouldn’t stand, as you noted, for the mom of Jocelyn Nungaray,&#8221; he said, referring to the 12-year-old girl allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants. &#8220;They wouldn’t stand for Laken Riley‘s family; they wouldn’t stand for the 13-year-old kid who survived brain cancer; they didn’t stand for the young man whose father was a slain police officer who Trump admitted to West Point in the middle of the speech. They wouldn’t stand for him. Even the Joint Chiefs applauded the kid going to West Point.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;There was one thing the entire night they applauded for: that we sent hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine. And they all stood and cheered that we sent money to Ukraine, but they will not applaud for America,&#8221; he concluded.</p>

‘I Have Never Seen Such A Disgraceful Display’: Cruz Rips Dems Hostile Reaction To Trump’s Speech

<p style="font-weight: 400;">A heroic young Israeli police officer, a father of three who <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408359" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rushed to save his countrymen</a> from Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, killing more than a dozen terrorists intent on slaughtering Israelis, took his own life after apparently suffering from survivor’s guilt and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">First Sgt. Igor Pibenev, 32, the father of three daughters, was at the police station in Hebron on the morning of October 7 when he heard Hamas had launched its murderous assault. Driving to his home in Yated, a village near the Gaza border, he first encountered two terrorists near Urim Junction and killed them, prompting two other terrorists to start shooting at him, both of whom he killed.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“The scenario in my head was that I would get home and see a lifeless house, but I put fear aside,” Pibenev recalled. “From Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, I headed home, but I saw terrorists walking toward the kibbutz cowshed. Then a shootout began, lasting a few minutes. On the way from the police station to my community, I saw a suspicious white vehicle and stopped on the side of the road. I identified terrorists; I shot at them and eliminated them. We had drills for situations like these, but I never believed that we would confront so many terrorists. When I heard about what happened in Kibbutz Be&#8217;eri, I imagined how I&#8217;d be left without a wife and children, but I remained optimistic the entire time.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“After I eliminated the terrorists, I received a message from my wife that she is currently at the neighbors&#8217; with the children and she is fine and healthy. I said I am on my way,” Pibenev <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408359" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said.</a></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“I entered the house, and the look my wife gave me and the girls was that I had arrived as they had hoped. &#8230; I gave a hug to the children &#8230; My feeling was that I was marrying my wife again and that I was back three more times in the delivery room with the excitement of seeing my children come into the world.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Three months ago, Pivenev’s wife Chani posted on social media: “If there are people around you are have been sinking since that Saturday, (October 7) turn the world on its head so that they can get the proper professional help and treatment. Don&#8217;t try to save them alone, you can&#8217;t, and things will just get worse. Fight the feelings of guilt — it&#8217;s not your fault.&#8221;</p>

Israeli October 7 Hero Who Killed Over A Dozen Terrorists Dies Tragically

<p>An <a href="https://www.jct.gov/publications/2025/jcx-23-25/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> from Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation revealed discomfiting news for Democrats who engage in class warfare: the House tax package would give average-income people almost double the percentage decline in their tax bills than those making more than $1 million a year.</p>
<p>The report found a general steady decline in the tax percentage as wages decreased. People making more than $1 million per year would see a drop of 8.6%; a decline of between roughly 11%-13% from those making between $1 million and $60,000, then a surge to 14.5% for those making between $50,000-$60,000; 16.1% for those making between $40,000-$50,000, 17.6% for those making between $30,000-$40,000, and 21.1% for those making between $15,000-$30,000 per year.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;The measure of income used to place tax returns into income categories is adjusted gross income (&#8220;AGI&#8221;) plus (1) tax-exempt interest, (2) employer contributions for health plans and life insurance, (3) employer share of FICA tax, (4) workers&#8217; compensation, (5) nontaxable Social Security benefits, (6) insurance value of Medicare benefits, (7) alternative minimum tax preference items, (8) individual share of business taxes, and (9)excluded income of U S citizens living abroad,” the analysis noted.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“The analysis does not take account of a likely expansion of a deduction for state and local taxes, which would overwhelmingly benefit upper-income households, or look at the possible effect of spending cuts Republicans are also planning that would primarily hit lower-income people,” <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/05/13/congress/average-taxpayers-tax-bills-set-to-fall-under-house-tax-package-forecasters-say-00347318" target="_blank" rel="noopener">POLITICO</a> reported.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-v-76dd54a1="">On Monday, House Ways and Means Committee ranking member Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA) ripped the House GOP, saying,  “They’re very uncertain of where they’re headed. And they know the political consequences, because I talked to a couple of them already.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;House Republicans are hoping to get the tax portion of the bill out of committee on Tuesday. Neal plans to make that task as hard as he can,” Semafor <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/05/12/2025/how-democrats-plan-to-counterattack-trumps-tax-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Monday.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) resorted to the time-honored Democratic tradition of accusing the GOP of favoring the rich, <a href="https://www.alreporter.com/2025/05/14/rep-sewell-slams-trumps-tax-bill-in-house-ways-and-means-committee/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a>, “My colleagues, let’s be honest about why we are here today. We are here because—according to President Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans in Congress—the wealthiest individuals and the largest corporations in our country are not wealthy enough.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Despite Democrats’ efforts to stop it, the House Ways and Means Committee, in a straight party-line vote, voted to advance the tax package out of committee on Wednesday morning, which means the package must next go to the House Budget Committee. The package makes the income tax rates from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 permanent while including President Donald Trump’s promises of no tax on tips or overtime, a jump in the child tax credit, and an increase in the endowment tax on some universities.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The House Budget Committee will gather the disparate parts of Trump’s tax bill, then send it to the entire House for a vote. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will have to work assiduously to unify the various factions in the House, given the razor-thin majority the GOP has in the House.</p>

Dems Hit Hardest: Analysis Says Trump Tax Plan Disproportionately Helps The Poor

<p style="font-weight: 400;">In a historic decision, Rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, announced on Tuesday that any punishment of people banned from the game ends with their deaths, leaving open the possibility that the legendary slugger &#8220;Shoeless&#8221; Joe Jackson and the all-time hits leader, Pete Rose, could be elected to the baseball Hall of fame.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Obviously, a person no longer with us cannot represent a threat to the integrity of the game. Moreover, it is hard to conceive of a penalty that has more deterrent effect than one that lasts a lifetime with no reprieve. &#8230; Therefore, I have concluded that permanent ineligibility ends upon the passing of the disciplined individual, and Mr. Rose will be removed from the permanently ineligible list,” Manfred wrote to attorney Jeffrey M. Lenkov, who had been trying for a decade to get Rose reinstated. Lenkov asked Manfred to remove Rose from the list in January, just four months after Rose died.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Jane Forbes Clark, chairman of the board of the Hall of Fame, said Manfred&#8217;s decision will allow Rose, Jackson and others to be considered by the Historical Overview Committee, which will ‘develop the ballot of eight names for the Classic Baseball Era Committee &#8230; to vote on when it meets next in December 2027,’” ESPN <a href="https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45115659/pete-rose-shoeless-joe-jackson-players-reinstated-mlb" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;This has been a long journey,&#8221; Lenkov said. &#8220;On behalf of the family, they are very proud and pleased and know that their father would have been overjoyed at this decision today.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Rose, a 17-time All-Star who retired from the game with 4,256 hits, was banned from the game by Commissioner A. Bartlett Giamatti in August 1989, after an investigation found he had bet on games while managing the Cincinnati Reds late in his career. He played the game with a relentless intensity that reminded fans of Ty Cobb, who was generally regarded as the most intense player to have ever played. Rose used to run to first base after a walk, prompting Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford to nickname him “Charlie Hustle.” Rose said, “My dad said the quicker you get to <em>first base</em>, the quicker you go around the bases. I played the way I was supposed to play.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Rose, a switch-hitter who won three batting titles, was the emotional leader of the Cincinnati Reds’ Big Red Machine that was one of the greatest teams to have ever played, winning the World Series in 1975 in a legendary seven-game series with the Boston Red Sox and then again in 1976, dominating the New York Yankees. He later helped the Philadelphia Phillies win their first World Series in 1980.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">On Wednesday night, at Pete Rose Night at Cincinnati&#8217;s Great American Ball Park, Lenkov and Rose’s family will attend. &#8220;Reds Nation will not only be able to celebrate Pete&#8217;s legacy, but now optimistically be able to look forward to the possibility that Pete will join other baseball immortals,&#8221; Lenkov said. &#8220;Pete Rose would have for sure been overjoyed at the outpouring of support from all.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Jackson, who had a career batting average of .356, the fourth highest in MLB history, after Ty Cobb (.366), Oscar Charleston (.365), and Rogers Hornsby (.358), was copied by his admirer Babe Ruth, who imitated Jackson by holding the bat at the knob, instead of choking up, which was favored by hitters but deprived them of the power Ruth wanted. Ruth called Jackson the greatest hitter he had ever seen.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">But Jackson was banned from baseball in 1921 after he and seven other members of the Chicago White Sox gambled on the 1919 World Series, in which the Sox played the Cincinnati Reds. The Sox were favored but lost the Series, raising suspicions that players had thrown the series to the Reds. The eight men were banned from baseball by Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Jackson’s complicity has been widely questioned, as he set a Series record with 12 hits and led both teams in several statistical categories.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Rose and Jackson&#8217;s candidacies presumably will be decided by the Hall&#8217;s 16-member Classic Baseball Era Committee, which considers players whose careers ended more than 15 years ago. The committee isn&#8217;t scheduled to meet again until December 2027. Rose and Jackson would need 12 of 16 votes to win induction,” ESPN noted.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the state has put an end to all construction of EPIC City, a massive development planned outside Dallas that was intended to be exclusively for Muslims and where sharia law was expected to be imposed on residents when it came to fruition.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Texas has halted any construction of EPIC City,” Abbott declared on Sunday on X. “There is no construction taking place. The state of Texas has launched about a half dozen investigations into this project. That includes criminal investigations. And, the US Department of justice is also investigating. This matter, and similar matters, are taken very seriously, and actions are being taken to address all concerns.”</p>

<p>His statements came days after news that the Trump administration&#8217;s Department of Justice had launched an investigation into the project. Last month, Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R) <a href="https://www.fox4news.com/news/cornyn-federal-investigation-epic-city-paxton-state-investigation">called on the administration</a> to carry out the probe, <a href="https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/news/cornyn-calls-on-doj-to-investigate-epic-city-following-accusations-of-religious-discrimination-sharia-law/">saying</a> it was a discriminatory &#8220;religious settlement where Islamic principles govern not only daily life and education, but commerce.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;A master-planned &#8216;community of thousands of Muslims&#8217; could violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian Texans, by preventing them from living in this new community and discriminating against them within the community,&#8221; Cornyn said. &#8220;I further encourage the Department to investigate whether Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslim minorities would receive equal protection under the law in this new community. Religious-based discrimination, whether explicit or implicit, is unconstitutional under the First and Fourteenth Amendments.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The same day, Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton announced he was investigating communications between the East Plano Islamic Center — around which EPIC City was to be built — and officials in the Texas towns of Plano, Richardson, and Wylie.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“If any local official is supporting or communicating with a real estate development that is under investigation for potential violations of state law, then it’s imperative that we are made aware of exactly what’s being communicated,” Paxton said. “We will thoroughly review these documents as part of our ongoing investigation into EPIC City and work to hold accountable anyone who breaks Texas law.”</p>
<p>The news of the Muslim development comes as similar projects have made headlines in Texas. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/colony-ridge">Colony Ridge</a>, a massive development outside of Houston, has become a breeding ground for crime due to an influx of illegal immigrants who have flocked to it. It is similarly under federal investigation and has been targeted by Texas officials, most recently with raids on illegal immigrants carried out in coordination with the federal government.</p>
<p>Abbott says the Islamic center is being investigated by a dozen state agencies, including whether or not its planned practice of refusing to sell or rent housing based on religion would break state law, according to the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/investigations/3408146/greg-abbott-halts-contruction-epic-city-muslim-community-texas-doj-investigation/">Washington Examiner</a>.</p>

Texas Says It’s Halted Construction Of Muslim-Centered ‘EPIC City’ Outside Dallas

<p style="font-weight: 400;">The Trump administration’s Department of Justice has <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/chinese-company-and-three-chinese-nationals-indicted-unlawfully-importing-pill-making" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that a federal grand jury indicted a Chinese company and three Chinese nationals for allegedly illegally importing equipment capable of producing millions of potentially lethal fake pills.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The indictment, unsealed on Monday, targeted CapsulCN International Co. Ltd. (CapsulCN) and Xiochuan “Ricky” Pan, 40, Tingyan “Monica” Yang, 37, and Xi “Inna” Chen, 30, all of whom were charged with smuggling, Controlled Substances Act, and money laundering offenses in connection with CapsulCN’s unlawful import and distribution of tableting machines (also known as “pill presses”), encapsulating machines, and counterfeit die molds.</p>
<p>“Over a quarter of a million Americans have died from a fentanyl overdose since 2018,” USA Facts <a href="https://usafacts.org/articles/are-fentanyl-overdose-deaths-rising-in-the-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a>. &#8220;During 2023, approximately 72,000, or nearly seven in 10, drug overdose deaths in the United States were estimated to involve illegally manufactured fentanyls (IMFs),” the CDC has <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/73/wr/mm7348a2.htm#:~:text=During%202023%2C%20approximately%2072%2C000%2C%20or,in%20the%20U.S.%20drug%20supply." target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Four internet domains used by CapsulCN to market and sell illicit pill-making equipment to U.S. customers were seized today in connection with this investigation,” the DOJ revealed.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“This indictment and today’s domain seizures send an unmistakable message to criminals in the People’s Republic of China and across the world — the Department will use every weapon in its arsenal to combat those who facilitate the manufacture and distribution of deadly drugs in the United States,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“This U.S. Attorney’s Office is focused on bringing the full force of justice to anyone who conspires to poison our communities with fentanyl,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Margaret Leachman for the Western District of Texas. “Whether through the importation of pill presses and related materials, as alleged in this indictment, or through trafficking precursor chemicals and the drug itself, it is evident that bad actors are determined to harm Americans with fentanyl. Our federal prosecutors, through collaborative efforts with our law enforcement partners, are determined to stop them.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“These indictments against Chinese nationals exemplify Homeland Security Investigations’ unwavering commitment to breaking every link of the global fentanyl supply chain,” Special Agent in Charge Jason T. Stevens of the HSI El Paso Division echoed. “We are committed to continue working hand-in-hand with our domestic and international law enforcement partners to get deadly fentanyl out of our communities and put an end to the chaos and devastation resulting from this epidemic.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The DOJ explained:</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">The effort to discover the illegal importation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. “Established in 1982, OCDETF is the centerpiece of the Attorney General’s strategy to combat transnational-organized-crime and to reduce the availability of illicit narcotics in the nation by using a prosecutor-led, multi-agency approach to enforcement,” the DOJ <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ocdetf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>.</p>

Chinese Company Accused Of Smuggling Equipment To U.S. Used To Make Fake Pills, Mislead Americans

<p>Fiercely pro-Israel Australian commenter Erin Molan ripped Francesca Albanese, the viciously anti-Israel UN Special Rapporteur for the United Nations on the Palestinian territories, after Albanese complained about her reputation having suffered for her despicable behavior, including denying that Hamas raped Israeli women on October 7, 2023.</p>
<p>Albanese has accused Israel of genocide, comparing Israel to Nazi Germany, and campaigned to have the Jewish state expelled from the UN.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Our favorite fraud: Francesca Albanese. She’s upset,&#8221; Molan noted. &#8220;No, not about denying the rape of Israeli women; don’t be silly. Nor about the atrocities of October 7. Don’t be daft. Or the impact of her atrocious lies on millions of innocents around the world. You’re kidding.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;You want to know what she’s actually upset about, what she’s losing sleep about?&#8221; she asked. &#8220;Brace yourself: What some people might think of her.&#8221;</p>
<p>Molan played a clip of Albanese moaning, &#8220;I despise and resent the reputational damage that they’ve caused me.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Where do you even start with that? Do you even bother?&#8221; Molan reacted. &#8220;Maybe just a tiny bit.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">She then addressed Albanese directly: &#8220;Francesca. One’s own reputation is often a direct result of one’s own actions. Your behavior has been appalling, derelict, dangerous, and unforgivable. You’ve only increased and further encouraged the suffering of the very people you purport to care about and stand for with your denial, your hate, and your hollow rhetoric. Anyone thinking ill of you is all your own doing. Take credit. Some of us just might have helped point it out a little bit. In fact, I’m somewhat encouraged by this revelation that people are starting to cotton on; clearly, if you’re noticing, then other people must be.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Molan gave a shout-out to Hillel Neuer from UN Watch &#8220;for doing so much of the heavy lifting here.&#8221; She then showed a clip of Albanese refusing to answer whether she was an anti-Semite and another clip where Albanese said of the Hamas rape of women on October 7, “Let’s assume that rape occurred. So?”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Molan quoted a <a href="https://x.com/FranceskAlbs/status/1921183811158597668">post</a> on X Albanese made within the past week in which she attacked Israel, writing:</p>

How do we let an army announce to the world the destruction of a people and then level every home, seize every field , shatter every possession they had — even with laughter.  How did we let them kidnap, torture, and rape, even with dogs. And now, starve them — even the children. And what unshakable belief blinds us to what we —  collectively — have done. May they have mercy.</em></p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;There is no way that she can be unaware that she is essentially describing October 7,&#8221; Molan charged. &#8220;Not even she can be that stupid. But on the off chance her idiocy is less evil and more ignorance, I’ll explain briefly, for the millionth time, Francesca, exactly how we got here. Are you listening?&#8221;</p>
<p>Molan then stated:</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;"><em>On October 7, the terrorists that you champion slaughtered over 1200 innocent people and took hostages completely unprovoked, many of whom still remain in Gaza. The terrorists you champion continue to try and kill Israelis and Jews — and their own people. It’s all on video. Their own people, while simultaneously promising to never stop. The terrorists you champion are further emboldened and empowered by your voice and others like it to continue their evil rather than face a deserved mass condemnation of the free world which they should have received.</em></p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;So Francesca, you ask how did we get here, still with innocents dying?&#8221; Molan questioned. &#8220;The answer is: In many ways, because of you and people like you. You never fought for innocent Palestinians, as is your mandate; you instead further inflicted devastating suffering upon them by perpetuating the myth that their enemy is Israel, instead of the very terrorists legitimately responsible for all of their suffering. If you genuinely cared about them, you would fight for the safe and prosperous future of all in the Middle East. It’s all or none. In full awareness that that will only ever be achieved without terrorism.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;So hopefully, I’ve killed two birds with one stone here, and you have a little further clarity as to how we got here; you asked. And also why your reputation is increasingly in tatters,&#8221; she concluded.</p>
