Former first lady Michelle Obama got slammed after posting a slide on Twitter and another on Instagram using the woke term “womxn.”
“‘Womxn,’ an alternative spelling to ‘woman/women,’ was proposed as a way to reclaim the identity of womanhood as inclusive and intersectional, and not defined in relation to men,” YourDaye explains.
On Twitter, Obama posted a statement on Saturday from a group she co-chairs called “When We All Vote” that read, “The leaked SCOTUS draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade could give state lawmakers the power to strip womxn of the right to make decision about their bodies and their healthcare.”
If any of you are questioning whether or not your vote matters, I get it. But remember that state lawmakers are the ones who will determine whether abortion is safe, legal, and accessible in your communities. And we are the ones who determine our state lawmakers. pic.twitter.com/Nafi5LfC8i

On Instagram, Obama used a slide from the group that stated, “State lawmakers will have the power to strip womxn of the right to make decisions about their bodies and their healthcare.”
“It’s been a tough couple of weeks since we saw the leaked SCOTUS draft opinion on abortion,” Obama opined in her Instagram post. “If it comes to pass, we may soon live in a country where millions of women — not to mention our children and grandchildren — lose the right to make decisions about their bodies and their health. Even if we knew the courts were heading toward this day, it doesn’t make the frustration, grief, and fear any less real.”
She slammed the Supreme Court conservatives and those who supported a repeal of Roe v. Wade, writing, “But we don’t have to stand idly by while others try to turn back the clock on progress.”
Michelle Obama is not the only prominent Democrat tolerating woke terminology to describe women; in September, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez babbled as she ranted against Texas GOP Governor Greg Abbott, “I don’t know if he is familiar with a menstruating person’s body. In fact, I do know that he’s not familiar with a woman – with a female or menstruating person’s body.”
“Democrats, don’t expect the Obamas to save you from weird woke terminology,” Republican pollster Patrick Ruffini reacted.

“Just asking a practical question here, how does one pronounce ‘womxn?’” former CNN political commentator Doug Heye echoed.

In a joint statement after the Supreme Court draft repealing Roe was leaked, Michelle and Barack Obama acknowledged, “As the court has previously determined, our freedoms are not unlimited — society has a compelling interest in other circumstances, for example, in protecting children from abuse or people from self-harm …”
But protecting children from being killed before birth apparently does not lie under the rubric that the Obamas acknowledge.
