Actress Hannah Einbinder turned her Emmy win into a political stage Sunday night, using her acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy to blast ICE and shout “Free Palestine,” before later invoking her Jewish identity to accuse Israel of genocide.

Einbinder has repeatedly insisted on distinguishing Jews from Israel, invoking her Jewish identity earlier this year when accepting the Human Rights Council “Visibility Award.” She declared, “As a queer person, as a Jewish person, and as an American, I am horrified by the Israeli government’s massacre of well over 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza” — an unverifiable and hyperbolic claim heavily disputed by both Israeli and independent sources.
Einbinder added a further leftist diatribe, declaring, “Mahmoud Khalil standing alongside both Palestinians and many Jewish students, calling for the Israeli army to stop dropping bombs on his homeland, does not make me feel unsafe. Elon Musk and Steve Bannon heiling Hitler does. Donald Trump calling a group of white nationalists with tiki torches shouting, ‘Jews will not replace us,’ ‘very fine people,’ does. Our struggles for liberation will be won by loudly opposing the corporations who fuel the destruction of our planet and the institutions that fuel mass death of our fellow human beings.”
Critics swiftly responded to Einbinder’s Emmy speech; one wrote, “Any Jewish actress who uses her 15 minutes of fame to show support for the terrorists holding 48 hostages in Gaza has no moral compass.”
Any Jewish actress who uses her 15 minutes of fame to show support for the terrorists holding 48 hostages in Gaza has no moral compass.
And the naive Hollywood audience that applauded her immoral statement is equally reprehensible.
Hannah Einbinder was a real loser at the Emmys

Another added:
Millionaire celebs love shouting empty slogans on stage like it’s open mic night.
“Free Palestine” is not a punchline.
Hannah, you had 30 seconds to inspire millions- you could have called for peace, condemned terror, call for the release of the hostages, oppose the sexual… pic.twitter.com/S5ZwQXssYk

Others referenced Ricky Gervais’ famed Golden Globes speech from 2020, in which he stated, “If ISIS started a streaming service, you’d call your agent, wouldn’t you? So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God, and f*** off.”

Hollywood is still deaf to Gervais’ message.
