In an Instagram post, Hilaria Baldwin, the wife of actor-producer Alec Baldwin, lashed out at media writing about her husband in the wake of his fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, claiming her husband is “suffering from PTSD” but adding, “It’s not from what just happened recently, but he’s been suffering from this for a very, very, very long time.”

“We oftentimes have people creating news stories about us,” Baldwin complained. “My husband is suffering from PTSD right now. It’s not from what just happened recently, but he’s been suffering from this for a very, very, very long time. And these people know this and they want to poke at him and they want to upset him. And then they want to create news about this. So if you create a new story, then the next day there’s going to be tons of paparazzi and there’s going to be more stories that come off of that and there’s more clicks and more shares and money which is ultimately what this is all about.”

“I’m at a place where I’m tired of not talking and I want to get to a place where I can use my voice to show you that this is not just a famous thing; this is an all-the-time thing,” she continued.

Wagging her finger at the camera, she added, “Everybody has trolls, Everybody has people who want to tell you whether you’re good or bad or what you think or what you feel. And you need to reclaim your voice and you’re allowed to speak.”

Last week, an interview aired in which Alec Baldwin told ABC News host George Stephanopoulos that he did not feel guilt over the shooting death of  Hutchins, claiming that someone else was responsible.

“Do you feel guilt?” Stephanopoulos asked Baldwin. “No. No,” Baldwin said. “I feel that there is, I feel that someone is responsible for what happened and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.” “I might have killed myself if I thought I was responsible, and I don’t say that lightly,” he added.

In December 2020, Alec Baldwin told an Instagram follower to “go f*** yourself” after they criticized his post defending his wife for apparently embellishing her Spanish ties.

The Daily Wire reported at the time:

Hilaria acknowledged over the weekend that her name is Hillary, telling her social media followers that it’s not a big deal that she has “two version” of her name with some “different letters.” She also addressed her fluctuating Spanish accent and stated that she was born in Boston, which is apparently contrary to her agency’s bio that has since been modified to scrub her birthplace.

In a post defending Hilaria, Baldwin published an image of a Mark Twain quote about the truth: “A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”

One person commented on the post, “Like your wife being Spanish when she lived in Massachusetts her entire life? I take it her accent is fake as well? FRAUDS!”

Alec Baldwin, according to the New York Post’s Page Six, responded, “Go f*** yourself.”

Hilaria posted to Instagram, “When you are multi, it can feel hard to belong. You are constantly going back and forth, trying to be more this or more that. You feel you have to explain why you are the way you are, trying to fit into a world of labels when there might not be one that perfectly defines you. You will never quite fit in because the other parts of you shape and influence all your parts.”
