Here’s What Trump’s Team Wants To Accomplish In the Next 100 Days

"The next 100 days will consist of trade deals, peace deals, and tax cuts. More American greatness is on the way.”

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s team marked the first 100 days of his second presidency with showcasing the achievements of its opening months in the White House. Now, heading into the next 100 days, cabinet members and officials tell The Daily Wire that they are dead set on capitalizing on the groundwork that’s been laid.

What’s next? “More American greatness,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Daily Wire.

“In his first 100 days, President Trump has delivered on hundreds of promises and already accomplished his two most important campaign goals — the border is secure and inflation is ending,” Leavitt shared. “The next 100 days will consist of trade deals, peace deals, and tax cuts. More American greatness is on the way.”

The first step will be getting the agenda funded. A huge part of that would be the president’s discretionary budget request, which the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released on Friday. The budget reduces non-defense discretionary spending by $163 billion, or 23%, from the 2025 enacted level, but increases defense spending by 13% and appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security by almost 65%.

“If you think we had a great first hundred days just wait till you see what we can do with more resources and more manpower,” a Homeland Security official told The Daily Wire on Friday.

That would require that Congress pass Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” and the president’s allies are hopeful that it will happen. In an interview with The Daily Wire this week, Senate Majority Leader John Thune hesitated to give a timeline on the bill but promised that the Senate is “working aggressively” to “get this on the president’s desk as soon as possible.”

On the other side of Congress, top Republicans are more optimistic.

“I expect to see the president’s going to sign this one big beautiful bill, that’s going to come in the next hundred days,” Florida congressman Byron Donalds told The Daily Wire. “We have a lot of work this week to get that done. So reauthorizing the tax policy, the new stuff, low tax on tips, overtime, Social Security, do some stuff on expensing capital expenditures. All this deregulation energy dominance. And the money that you guys know for repatriating illegal aliens to their home country, all these things, I think we’re sending an incentive.”

Trump 2.0 has already focused serious energy on the border crisis — the administration announced this week that there have been 139,000 deportations since the president took office in January, and in his first 50 days alone, ICE arrested 32,809 illegal immigrants (about the same number that President Joe Biden’s administration arrested in an entire year) 75% of whom were convicted or accused criminals.

“We’re going to continue to do what we do,” Ron Vitiello, senior advisor to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, told The Daily Wire. “We’re going to layer in the enforcement priorities and continue to give the frontline the tools and then we’re going to expand some of those tools very specifically.”

Vitiello says there are plans to make their border enforcement much more effective going forward. Vitiello also pointed out that Trump just designated a military area along the border, noting that the consequences for that part of the border, and other parts of the border, are going to be raised.

“We’re also teaching the workforce on the front line to add charges to people who are in the country illegally,” he explained. “So if they present false documents, besides crossing the border illegally, if they lie to officers in the line and tell them something, that’s not true, and we’re not just going to charge them for being here illegally, but we charge them for other crimes that they may be committing, including the people that they’re contracting in the United States to pay for smuggling fees.”

“So the next phase and 100 days more, that training in that activity and the iterations for that work on the border is going to start to increase,” Vitiello said. “What that means is when people cross the border, the consequences are going up and they’re getting ratcheted up every single day. We expect to have less traffic at the border because of that. People will tell each other how much more extreme the charges are, the consequences are going up, the word is going to get out and people are going to make different choices.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who recently added National Security Advisor to his already packed portfolio in the administration, said that all the successes of the first hundred days can be attributed to “leadership and strength” returning to the White House.

“President Trump has had more success in the first 100 days than most presidents have in their entire term,” Rubio told The Daily Wire. “Our border is secure. Allies are stepping up. And trade relationships are rebalancing. All of that is happening because the president is pursuing a foreign policy that puts America and Americans first, above all else. This is what leadership and strength look like.”
