The hosts of ABC’s midday talk show “The View” spent part of Wednesday’s show complaining that too many people — themselves included — had been fooled by former President Donald Trump’s assertion that he would likely be arrested on Tuesday.
Longtime host Whoopi Goldberg, who still refuses to mention Trump by name, began the show by announcing that “you-know-who is still at large” — at which point her cohosts jumped in to share their disappointment in that development (or lack thereof).

The View is annoyed that they fell for Trump's false claim that he would be arrested on Tuesday.
"He manipulated everybody," Joy Behar whined. "It annoys me every time."

“And I want to start this with this update. You-know-who is still at large,” Goldberg began in exaggerated tones.
“He hasn’t been arrested like he predicted,” cohost Sunny Hostin agreed.
“No. Well, you know — you kind of have to weigh it with all the other stuff he said. And you figure, well, you know, you said you won the election, you didn’t win,” Goldberg continued.
“Good point,” Hostin interjected.

“You said they are going to arrest you. They didn’t arrest you,” Goldberg said.
“They didn’t,” from Hostin.
Cohost Sara Haines argued that if they were used to Trump not necessarily being truthful, there was no real reason to take him seriously when he said that he was going to be arrested.
“I said that to Joy. I go, ‘Why would we start believing him now?’” she recalled.
“We don’t,” cohost Joy Behar agreed, lamenting the fact that people had still believed him. “He manipulated everybody. We all rose to the occasion, the papers, everybody just went there.”
Hostin complained that the lack of movement from District Attorney Alvin Bragg — and the failure of a Trump arrest to materialize — saying that whether or not people believed what Trump said, many had been “disappointed” when an arrest had not actually happened.
“He’s a liar. He’s a liar,” Behar said, prompting Goldberg to ask, “Are you shocked?”
Behar said that no, she was not shocked — but “it annoys me every time.”
