All Palestinian factions except Islamic Jihad have reached an agreement on a statehood initiative that implicitly recognises Israel's right to exist, sources in Fatah and Hamas said today. As a possible ceasefire was announced between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas, Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, living in Qatar, expressed “pride” in the horrific October 7 massacre in which Hamas slaughtered more than 1200 people in Israel and implied his intention to repeat it, the Jewish News Syndicate reported.

Al-Hayya somehow twisted the destruction of Hamas by Israel as a victory, boasting, “Praise be to Allah, who fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His servant, strengthened His forces, and alone defeated the confederates.”

“To the leadership of our movement, both political and military, and the martyrs of all resistance factions and fighters—we exclude none,” he stated. “To them and to our people, we say: Blessed are your trades, our leaders and martyrs. It is indeed a trade with Allah that will never fail. And we will continue along the path of our martyr leaders until victory or martyrdom, Allah willing. Our great people, Arab and Islamic nation, and free people of the world: The ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ battle has marked a significant turning point in the history of our cause and the stages of resistance by our great people.”

“Its impact will continue, Allah willing, even after the battle ends,” he said. “What occurred on October 7—a miraculous military and security achievement by the elite Qassam Brigades—will remain a source of pride for our people and resistance, passed down through generations.”

“The courage of our people and fighters has crushed the enemy’s objectives. … In conclusion: The liberation of Jerusalem remains our compass,” he declared.

The ceasefire deal is currently on hold: On Thursday, Israeli government spokesman David Mencer told reporters that Hamas “added further demands that contradict the agreement with the mediators. … As of this time, the details of the agreement have not yet been finalized, and the negotiation team is continuing its efforts to reach a solution. The Israeli negotiating team is still in Doha as befits Israel’s willingness to finalize the hostage release agreement.”
