A new report by Campus Reform on Monday revealed a growing list of American college campuses that will require a COVID-19 booster shot for the spring 2022 semester.

The University of Notre Dame is among the campuses that will require a booster for attendance, both for residential students and those studying remotely.

Notre Dame’s December 6 communication to students stated:

As an extension of the University’s existing COVID-19 vaccination requirement, the COVID-19 booster is required of all students – undergraduate, graduate, and professional, including students studying or performing research remotely and/or virtually – to minimize our community’s experience with coronavirus.

Salisbury University also rolled out new booster shot requirements during a virtual briefing:

SU community members who received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be required to test twice-weekly to maintain campus access unless they receive a booster shot within 90 days of their original shot. Twice-weekly testing also will be required for those who receive the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine unless they receive a booster shot within eight months of their second vaccination shot.

Campus Reform noted two additional universities with booster shot requirements in the spring semester as well:

Emerson College, located in Massachusetts, announced that it will be requiring the booster shot for returning students, including those located on the Los Angeles and Netherland campuses. Students and employees must upload proof to an online platform.

Syracuse University, as well, issued a statement on December 6 announcing its plan on requiring boosters for returning students, staff and faculty within 30 days of eligibility, as recommended by the CDC . The policy goes into effect on Friday, January 21, 2022.

In October, The Daily Wire reported on the growing number of college campuses with COVID-19 vaccine mandates along with efforts opposing them that included more than 1,000 reported universities with mandates:

College students across the country are pushing back against some of the draconian COVID-19 measures their schools have imposed on them.

At at least 40 schools, students have organized protests or petitions objecting to vaccine mandates or face mask requirements, The Wall Street Journal reported.

While a majority of college students support vaccine and mask mandates, those who do not want to get the shot are often left out in the cold. Nearly three-quarters of students support vaccine mandates, and about 80 percent support mask mandates, according to a September Kaplan survey.

In some cases, students have filed federal lawsuits against their schools over the vaccine mandates. Those lawsuits may run aground, however.

In August, a federal appeals court ruled in favor of Indiana University’s vaccine requirement, and that decision has already been cited in some of the other cases. Eight students sued Indiana University over the mandate, saying it violates their constitutional rights by forcing them to get medical treatment they do not want.

More than 1,000 schools have implemented a vaccine mandate, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The Daily Wire is fighting Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate in federal court. Join us in this fight by signing our petition to OSHA, telling them that you will not comply with this mandate.
