The decade's most triggering comedy
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld defended his former colleague Tucker Carlson, calling out the “hall monitor failures” who would like nothing better than to see the popular ex-Fox News host destroyed.
Gutfeld responded Tuesday to a slew of leaked videos — disseminated primarily by regular Carlson target Media Matters for America — that purported to show the “real” Carlson speaking off the cuff when he supposedly did not believe the cameras were rolling.
“NEW FOXLEAKS: Media Matters obtained three more behind-the-scenes videos featuring former Fox host Tucker Carlson’s creepy on-set comments,” Media Matters senior fellow Matt Gertz tweeted, sharing an article containing the leaked videos.
But Gutfeld was not buying Media Matters’ spin on the leaked material — most of which showed Carlson prepping to go on air and engaging in humorous (if a bit off-color) chatter with producers and guests.
“Apparently everyone understands nonsense banter between segments except for hall monitor failures bitterly chronicling the lives of the far more successful,” Gutfeld tweeted.

Fox Nation alum Lara Logan weighed in as well, saying that if anything, Gutfeld was not being hard enough on Media Matters. “Gutfeld is being kind — Media Matters are paid propagandists who represent the very worst of humanity. They cannot touch Tucker Carlson — millions see through these tactics now & they just don’t care,” she said.
Tuesday did not mark the first occasion that Gutfeld came to Carlson’s defense following his abrupt exit from the network on April 24 — in fact, just hours after the news broke, the popular “Gutfeld!” host joked on “The Five” that Carlson was going to run for president.

Just two days later, Geraldo Rivera — Gutfeld’s occasional co-host on “The Five” — gave Carlson an unflattering review, saying, “I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt — as I said at the time — Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was ‘bulls***.’ Having lost the election President Trump incited an insurrection that sought to undermine our Constitutional process.”

Gutfeld took issue with that as well, responding, “You’re a class act Geraldo. A real man of the people.”
