Judicial Watch President Tim Fitton is outraged by President Obama’s blatant disregard for the American people and their hard-earned tax dollars that he carelessly wastes on endless vacationing and unnecessary travel.
“The Obamas’ travel is out of control. They are treating the Air Force One like an Uber ride,” Fitton told AL.com. “And President Obama seems oblivious to the burden he is placing on Americans with his continuous vacations, getaways, and political junkets at taxpayer expense.”
Costly annual trips to Hawaii since 2008 for a two-week long Christmas vacations are not easing the scrutiny of the Obamas. The Christmas get-away last year was estimated to cost $3.7 million in flight expenses alone.
The Obamas also took three other trips this year, totaling $3.1 million solely in travel expenses.
Moreover, in March it surfaced that at least $1 million was spent flying the president and his wife to Los Angeles and back to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Ellen,” respectively. The kicker was that the president and his wife took separate planes while their appearances were on the same day and only miles apart.
A report from the Washington Examiner found that the First Family had already racked up 38 expensive “holidays, working vacations and fun trips” in total as of March of 2015; Africa, Aspen, Martha’s Vineyard, New York, Japan and Hawaii were just some of the locations visited.
