<p>Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dr-oz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Mehmet Oz</a> stepped in to help a 27-year-old passenger experiencing a medical emergency during a flight from Louisville to Philadelphia over the weekend.</p>
<p>When the male passenger collapsed during the flight, Oz and two flight attendants came to his rescue.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was sitting in my seat and a woman a few rows ahead of me yelled out that there was a crisis,&#8221; Oz recalled, <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/mehmet-oz-first-responder-doctor/2022/08/31/id/1085442/">according</a> to Newsmax. &#8220;I ran to the bay and a gentleman had collapsed to the ground. He had been trying to get into the bathroom.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;When I got to him, he was conscious but disoriented,&#8221; the 62-year-old said. &#8220;I asked the stewardesses to come help and get me something with sugar in it.&#8221;</p>
<p>After drinking some soda, the passenger &#8220;started to sort of come back to himself,&#8221; Oz said. &#8220;He had a very thready pulse, so low blood pressure, and when I gave him some of this beverage, he began to feel a little better.&#8221;</p>
<p>The retired cardiothoracic surgeon said the young man was likely dehydrated. &#8220;He had driven all night long to get to the airport and I&#8217;m sure he was dehydrated because, with fluids, his blood pressure came up,&#8221; he explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;People get dehydrated all the time on planes, especially because it&#8217;s high altitude and the air is drier,&#8221; Oz continued. &#8220;Make sure you drink enough water. Caffeine doesn&#8217;t work as well as water, because caffeine gets you to pee out whatever fluids you&#8217;re taking in. Just take water. &#8230; Especially because it&#8217;s summertime and it&#8217;s hot. I think that was part of what happened to this young man.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;These flight attendants were very well trained, kept their calm and were able to help me perfectly,&#8221; Oz praised the attendants. &#8220;I want to applaud their professionalism.&#8221;</p>
<p>The medical professional won the GOP primary back in June and is set to face off against <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/pennsylvania" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania</a> Lt. Governor John Fetterman, a Democrat, in a November election for GOP Sen. Pat Toomey&#8217;s seat.</p>
<p>According to recent <a href="https://www.abc27.com/pennsylvania-senate-race/pennsylvania-senate-race-fetterman-holds-slim-lead-over-oz-in-new-poll/">polling</a> from Emerson College, Fetterman&#8217;s double-digit lead has slimmed down considerably, with the Democrat leading Oz by four points; 48% to 44%.</p>
<p>Fetterman, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hell-be-fine-pa-democratic-senate-nominee-cleared-by-doctor-to-campaign-after-suffering-a-stroke-days-before-primary">suffered a stroke</a> days ahead of the primary, has repeatedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-for-decriminalizing-across-the-board-john-fetterman-has-repeatedly-nodded-to-woke-drug-policy">nodded</a> to drug decriminalization and monitored injection sites, as well as <a href="https://twitter.com/johnfetterman/status/1290280291458674689">defended</a> Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. The controversial DA is currently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-and-republicans-join-forces-to-investigate-philadelphias-woke-district-attorney">under investigation</a> by Republican and Democratic members of the Pennsylvania House for allegedly neglecting to enforce the city’s laws.</p>
<p>Moreover, Fetterman provoked ire in 2013 by responding to what he believed was gunfire by pulling a firearm on an African American and detaining him until police arrived — an incident that has generated <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/fettermans-gun-incident-rattles-black-democrats-pa-senate-race-rcna25649">unease</a> among black Democratic voters.</p>
<p>Oz, who had a successful career in the private sector, has taken heat from the Right over his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pennsylvania-gop-senate-primary-might-be-two-way-contest-between-oz-and-barnette-poll-suggests">past support</a> of abortion and gun control.</p>
