Injured little leaguer Easton Oliverson — nicknamed “Tank” — took his first steps on Friday after an accident in his dormitory landed him in a coma.

Oliverson, a member of the first Utah little league team to make it to the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, sustained a fractured skull after he fell from his bunk in the middle of the night. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery, after which he was placed in a medically-induced coma.

According to recent updates, however, Oliverson appears to be on the road to recovery. An Instagram post shared on Thursday revealed that he had been moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a regular hospital room — and that he had been alert and responsive and able to manage simple tasks such as feeding himself.

The post also shared that Oliverson’s younger brother Brogan was flown in to play with the Snow Canyon Little League team in his place — using the nickname “Little T” — and that he had been able to take a few steps with help.

“We are at a loss for words. There are none that seem fitting other than: God is Good. SO GOOD!” the family captioned a video of Oliverson walking.

The family shared another update on Friday, noting that Oliverson still hade quite a way to go — but that he had been able to watch his team play in their first ever LLWS game.

“Today all of Easton’s teammates, and little brother stepped on the field and played in their first game of the Little League World Series. He was able to watch this game from his hospital room, dressed in his Mountain Region gear,” the caption read. “Rightfully so, this was a very emotional afternoon for him.”

“The swelling in his face has gone up, and the doctors have told his parents that it will get worse. This has limited Easton’s ability to see, creating a unique challenge for him,” the update continued. “While we have seen a countless amount of miracles in Easton’s journey (and still are), he is still going to have hard moments like today.”
