<p>President Donald Trump&#8217;s border czar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tom-homan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tom Homan</a> said on Tuesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have begun seeking criminal illegal immigrants in the first phase of Trump&#8217;s mass deportation operation.</p>
<p>Homan told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6367456515112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> that ICE agents created &#8220;target sheets&#8221; prioritizing the arrests of illegal immigrants who are deemed threats to public safety. Trump signed a slew of executive orders immediately after being sworn into office on Monday to secure the southern border and crack down on illegal immigration.</p>
<p>&#8220;ICE teams are out there as of today,&#8221; Homan told Fox News host Trace Gallagher. &#8220;We gave them the direction to prioritize public safety threats. That&#8217;s what we&#8217;re looking for. We&#8217;ve been working with a target list.&#8221;</p>
<p>Homan added that the Trump administration had to &#8220;reevaluate&#8221; its strategy over &#8220;officers&#8217; safety concerns&#8221; after its plans to go after illegal immigrants in Chicago were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-border-czar-addresses-chicago-deportation-plan-says-ice-may-pivot-after-leak" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leaked</a>. The border czar said the concerns have been addressed and ICE agents are working toward Trump&#8217;s deportation goals &#8220;today.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;ICE officers throughout the country were told today, &#8216;Go make arrests of those here illegally that have a public safety threat.&#8217; So they&#8217;ve developed target sheets, an operational plan to go out in the field &#8230; so they&#8217;re out there right now looking for the most serious public safety threats throughout the country,&#8221; Homan said.</p>

<p>Homan added that there are over 700,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records currently walking free in the U.S.</p>

<p>The border czar did not specify where exactly the first ICE operations would begin, but did say the arrests are &#8220;happening all over the country.&#8221;</p>

<p>Trump signed executive orders on Monday declaring a national emergency at the southern border, ending &#8220;catch and release,&#8221; reinstating the &#8220;remain in Mexico&#8221; policy, ending the CBP One app used by migrants to cross the border and claim asylum, and ending birthright citizenship. Homan called the executive orders &#8220;game-changers,&#8221; adding that they would lead to the &#8220;most secure border in my lifetime.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s order to end birthright citizenship has already been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-attorneys-general-sue-trump-over-birthright-citizenship-exec-order" target="_blank" rel="noopener">challenged</a> by 22 states with Democrat attorneys general who argue that it violates the 14th Amendment.</p>
