February is a big month for actress Gina Carano.

On February 12, 2021, the “Mandalorian” star announced she was partnering with The Daily Wire after being fired by Disney for what they deemed an anti-Semitic tweet. And now exactly one year later, the trailer for Carano’s first film since she was ousted from Disney debuted during the premiere of “Shut In.”

The Daily Wire is diving into the entertainment industry to make movies that are entertaining, inspiring, and free from the woke messaging Hollywood insists on peddling. Carano is a vital part of that effort as she’s starring in “Terror on the Prairie,” a gripping Western that’s being released in summer 2022.

The project is directed by Michael Polish (“Northfork”). “Terror on the Prairie” tells the harrowing tale of a frontier woman (Carano) on the Montana plains who is forced to fight back against a gang of vicious outlaws hellbent on revenge.

It’s all leading up to a triumphant return for Carano, who chose to become a champion of standing up for principles after being let go from Disney.

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob,” the actress said in a statement to The Daily Wire just after she partnered with the company.

“I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

The timing of the “Terror on the Prairie” trailer feels like full circle.

“’Terror on the Prairie’ is a triumph. Gina is excellent and the film was beautifully shot by Michael Polish, who is a world-class director,” Daily Wire’s co-founder and co-CEO Jeremy Boreing said.

“When people hear that a conservative media company has entered the film business, they’ll often assume we’re making either hyper-politicized movies or milquetoast dramas, but we have no interest in producing ‘Hillary’s Hard Drive Part III’ or ‘Christmas Romance in the Rockies.’ We’re making top-quality entertainment that all Americans can love.”

Carano was let go after tweeting out a photo which compared the political environment in the U.S. to Nazi Germany. It was one of several controversial tweets she shared and refused to apologize for.

“I was in utter shock and confusion when certain people said it was antisemitic,” Carano told journalist Bari Weiss following the incident. “Then, as I went to take it down, I noticed that the image was not the same as the one people were referencing. I was honestly confused: should I take it down, or leave it up? I still don’t know the answer to that question, because taking it down only makes the mob attack you more.”

One year later, Carano is on the verge of an epic comeback without ever having to apologize.
