Future Senator Kid Rock: ‘F*** Colin Kaepernick’

While performing at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, patriotic musical talent Kid Rock couldn’t help but to get political.

During a rendition of his hit song, “Born Free,” the singer decided to send a message to former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who famously refused to stand during the playing of the national anthem before games last year over allegedly rife racially-targeted police brutality.

“Football’s about ready to start,” said the rocker. “You know what? F*** Colin Kaepernick.”

Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, first made political waves during the 2016 election, publicly supporting Donald Trump; the rock star even released a line of Trump-themed clothing.

But things became even more politically serious this summer when Ritchie floated the idea of running for U.S. Senate in 2018, to represent his home state of Michigan.

According to The Des Moines Register, the musician kept the fair mostly politics-free, aside from this Kaepernick outburst and selling some “Kid Rock for U.S. Senate” t-shirts for $25 a pop.

While performing in Boston last year, Ritchie leveled the same remark at Kaepernick mid-song.

The NFL player is currently an unsigned free agent, and Ritchie is on his way to a senate seat.
