On Thursday, FOX News announced that it has partnered with the National Merit Scholarship Program to create a scholarship in honor of the late commentator Dr. Charles Krauthammer.

Krauthammer served as a contributor to Fox News from 2002 until his death in 2018. He was a Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated journalist and a Harvard-educated psychiatrist. He passed away in June at age 68 from cancer.

The scholarship will reportedly be launched in 2020 and only children of FNC and FOX Business employees will be eligible. The winners will be awarded $2,000 per year of college for a maximum of four years. The selection of winners will be conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

“Charles was a beloved member of the FOX News family, but more importantly, he was an incredible mentor and role model for millions of Americans across the country,” Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said. “We are proud to honor Charles, his legacy, impact and countless contributions with a new scholarship program enabling the next generation of thought leaders the opportunity and education they need to reach their dreams.”
