Former UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson was arrested early Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence after crashing his truck into two parked cars outside a Hollywood nightclub.

Ferguson, 39, flipped his pickup truck on its side after the collision around 1:50 a.m., leaving one man transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition, according to local media.

Authorities told TMZ that Ferguson refused to take a field sobriety test and was “uncooperative.” Sources told TMZ Ferguson “reeked of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes,” as reported by the outlet.

MMA Fighting reported online documents said Ferguson faces a misdemeanor DUI with bail set at $30,000 and has yet to be released. Ferguson also reportedly faces suspension of his license for refusing to cooperate with authorities’ request for a field sobriety test.

Ferguson allegedly crashed into a Mercedes belonging to rapper Cash Gotti, according to his Instagram.

Ferguson began fighting in the UFC in 2011 and currently holds a 25-8 record. He has lost his last five fights, with his most recent defeat to Nate Diaz by submission last September. Other fighters Ferguson lost to include Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler, Charles Oliveira, and Beneil Dariush.

Ferguson defeated Kevin Lee by submission in 2017 for the lightweight championship until losing the title shortly after due to an injury.

According to The Daily Mail, Ferguson’s wife, Christina Servin, filed a restraining order against him in 2019, citing allegations of “uncharacteristic behavior” traits like intense paranoia, sleep deprivation, and destruction of property. Servin also noted that she filed the restraining order so that he could focus on his mental health.

Servin withdrew the order a month later.

“Tony Ferguson is a good husband and good father to our son,” Servin said in a 2019 statement, according to The New York Post. “The current legal proceedings are a part of a process to ensure that Tony will receive the help necessary to continue being the best possible, as well as to pursue his passion and career as a UFC champion fighter.”
