Former NFL head coach <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tony-dungy">Tony Dungy</a>, who has 8 adopted children, became emotional as he spoke out against Florida’s pro-abortion ballot initiative <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-stakes-are-high-how-florida-became-the-abortion-battle-ground-of-2024">Amendment 4</a>.
During a <a href="https://x.com/FLVoiceNews/status/1851311195678036140">press conference</a> on Tuesday alongside Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Dungy said he takes the proposed Abortion amendment personally because he happens to believe that “these babies in the womb are lives.”
“And I know that everybody doesn’t believe that, but I happen to believe it,” Dungy said. &#8220;My Bible tells me that they are. And I know everybody doesn’t believe that but, for me, that’s what’s important.”
“My wife Lauren and I have eight adopted children in our home right now. And when I go home every day, and I look at those kids, I don&#8217;t see eight choices, I&#8217;m sorry,” he added, while getting very emotional. &#8220;Those are eight lives.&#8221;

“And yes, we need to protect our women. Yes, we need to protect our mothers. But we need to protect those children as well,” Dungy continued.
DeSantis and his administration are waging war on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-stakes-are-high-how-florida-became-the-abortion-battle-ground-of-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pro-abortion amendment</a> backed by radical leftist groups. Amendment 4 would massively increase abortions in the state, superseding Florida’s law protecting unborn babies with a heartbeat by establishing a “constitutional right to abortion before fetal viability.”

Last month, the former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and outspoken Christian made headlines when he called out Vice President Kamala Harris over comments she’s made numerous times about how her “faith” allows for her support for abortion.
The Super Bowl-winning coach asked Harris about what she said during the ABC Presidential Debate with former President Donald Trump when she claimed that <a href="https://www.eewmagazineonline.com/latest-news/2024/9/20/tony-dungy-criticizes-vice-president-kamala-harris-over-abortion-and-faith">she could support abortion</a> without abandoning her “faith,” then wrote similarly on social media.
“One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body,” Harris’ post <a href="https://x.com/KamalaHarris/status/1836834148062732700">read</a> on X.
In response, Dungy wrote, “Dear VP Harris: I hear you make this statement all the time. Exactly what ‘faith’ are you talking about when you say you don’t have to abandon it to support abortion?”
“Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God places them in the womb (Jer 1:5) and that we should not take any life unjustly (Luke 18:20)?” he added. “Are you talking about that faith or some nebulous, general ‘faith’ that says we’re good enough, and smart enough to make our own decisions? What ‘faith’ are you talking about?”
