During a <a href="https://x.com/FLVoiceNews/status/1851311195678036140">press conference</a> on Tuesday alongside Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Dungy said he takes the proposed Abortion amendment personally because he happens to believe that “these babies in the womb are lives.”
“And I know that everybody doesn’t believe that, but I happen to believe it,” Dungy said. &#8220;My Bible tells me that they are. And I know everybody doesn’t believe that but, for me, that’s what’s important.”
“My wife Lauren and I have eight adopted children in our home right now. And when I go home every day, and I look at those kids, I don&#8217;t see eight choices, I&#8217;m sorry,” he added, while getting very emotional. &#8220;Those are eight lives.&#8221;

Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock came under criticism from pro-life supporters following his remarks supporting abortion, including from former Super Bowl-winning NFL coach Tony Dungy.
Dungy, the first black NFL coach to win a Super Bowl when he led the Indianapolis Colts, questioned Warnock&#8217;s label as a &#8220;pro-choice pastor.&#8221;
&#8220;It all comes down to what you believe about the organism growing inside the mother. Is it a life or not? If it is just growing tissue then your &#8216;choice&#8217; makes sense. Dungy&#8217;s comments were in response to Warnock&#8217;s statement on Monday evening following the reported leak of the Supreme Court&#8217;s opinion regarding a Mississippi pro-life case that could overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling and return decisions regarding abortion laws to individual states.
&#8220;As a pro-choice pastor, I’ve always believed that a patient&#8217;s room is way too small for a woman, her doctor, and the United States government,&#8221; Warnock tweeted on Monday. &#8220;I&#8217;ll always fight to protect a woman&#8217;s right to choose. And that will never change.&#8221;
In another post on his Senate Twitter account, Warnock also wrote on Monday in support of a woman&#8217;s right to choose abortion.
&#8220;If the reports are true, I’m deeply disappointed. As a pro-choice pastor and voice for Georgia in the Senate, it’s more urgent than ever that we pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. These are decisions that should be made between a woman and her doctor—not the government,&#8221; the senator wrote.

The controversial remarks come as Warnock faces an election battle in the Peach State that could determine control of the Senate. He is expected to face former University of Georgia football star and NFL great Herschel Walker who is running as a Republican candidate for Senate in the November midterms.
Warnock narrowly defeated Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler in a runoff election in January 2021, becoming the state&#8217;s first black senator. The special election followed the retirement of Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson, leaving Warnock up for re-election again in 2022 for a full six-year term.
In addition to serving as a U.S. senator for Georgia, Warnock is the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. The church was once led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
&#8220;Relatable&#8221; podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey also criticized Warnock&#8217;s &#8220;pro-choice pastor&#8221; title when he shared similar words on Twitter in January.

Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy hit back at critics Wednesday for blasting his support of a Florida bill supporting “fatherhood.”
Dungy responded to critics on his Twitter account on Wednesday with a quote from former President Barack Obama emphasizing the importance of fathers in the home.
“2 days ago I spoke on behalf of a Florida bill that supports dads &amp; families and it offended some people. 14 yrs ago Pres Obama said the same things almost verbatim. I’m assuming people were outraged at him too. I am serving the Lord so I’ll keep supporting dads and families,” Dungy said.
Along with his message, Dungy posted a quote Obama said during a Father’s Day <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2008/06/text-of-obamas-fatherhood-speech-011094">speech</a> in 2008.
“We know the statistics — that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison,” Obama said. “They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.”

Dungy appeared at a Monday signing ceremony with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at which DeSantis signed a bill allocating $70 million toward programs supporting and incentivizing fatherhood. As <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/desantis-signs-bill-allocating-70-224559445.html">Yahoo News</a> reported:

The funding will enable DJJ to launch a mentorship program for at-risk youth, which will include programs including barbershop talks and fatherhood classes.</blockquote>
Critics slammed Dungy for appearing alongside DeSantis.
“Tony Dungy revealed his true self a few years ago when he said he wouldn&#8217;t want an openly gay player on his team. So of course he&#8217;s appearing alongside anti-LGBT extremist Ron DeSantis. &#8220;Jesus Christ, if that&#8217;s who you believe in, Jesus Christ, admittedly was not perfect when he was here on this earth,&#8221; Lemon said to his colleague Chris Cuomo this week. &#8220;So why are we deifying the founders of this country, many of whom owned slaves?&#8221;
Given that Christians believe that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, Lemon&#8217;s suggestion that He was just another imperfect teacher completely slapped all Christian doctrine in the face. Dungy, an outspoken and admitted Christian, called the host out on Twitter.

Not anyone who trusts in Jesus as their savior,” Dungy tweeted. “I’m not sure the point you’re making but your premise is dead wrong. That was the point in Jesus coming!”

As noted by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/tony-dungy-cnn-don-lemon-jesus-bible">Fox News</a>, multiple Christian leaders stepped up to denounce Lemon&#8217;s comments. Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church of Dallas said the statement &#8220;makes him and his network the uncontested champions of Fake News.&#8221;
&#8220;Don Lemon&#8217;s comments are, first of all, heretical, and it contradicts the most basic tenet of the Christian faith and demonstrates how tone-deaf the left is to faith issues,&#8221; said Jeffress. &#8220;Our founding fathers, like all of us, were imperfect human beings, but Jesus Christ was different than any other man that lived, and as the founder of our faith, he had to be perfect.&#8221;
Eric Metaxes also stated, &#8220;&#8216;To be embarrassingly culturally ignorant may be regarded as a misfortune, but to proclaim one’s ignorance whilst hosting a major tv show looks like carelessness!’ — Oscar Wilde.”
Don Lemon also sparked controversy this week when he lectured actor Terry Crews for emphasizing the importance of black lives not killed in police violence, going as far to say that the phrase Black Lives Matter does not mean &#8220;All Black Lives Matter.&#8221;
“The Black Lives Matter movement was started because it was talking about police brutality,” Lemon said. “If you want an all black lives matter movement that talks about gun violence in communities, including, you know, black communities, then, start that movement with that name. But that’s not what Black Lives Matter is about. It’s not an all-encompassing [movement].”
“So if you are talking about — if someone started a movement that said cancer matters,” Lemon continued. “And then, someone comes and says why aren’t you talking about HIV? It’s not the same thing. We’re talking about cancer. So the Black Lives Matter movement is about police brutality and injustice, in that manner. Not about what’s happening in black neighborhoods. here are people who are working on that issue. And if you want to start that issue, why don’t you start it? Do you understand what I’m saying?”
