<p style="font-weight: 400;">This time, the BBC acknowledged that a BBC documentary titled “Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone,” which was narrated by a boy from Gaza, neglected to mention that the boy just happened to be the son of a high-ranking Hamas official.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">A review of the situation found that three members of the independent production company Hoyo Films knew the narrator’s father served as deputy minister of agriculture for Hamas in Gaza and the BBC team was not “sufficiently proactive” with initial editorial checks and displayed a “lack of critical oversight of unanswered or partially answered questions” before the broadcast aired.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">A spokesman for the media watchdog Ofcom, which will conduct an investigation, stated, “Having examined the BBC&#8217;s findings, we are launching an investigation under our rule, which states that factual programmes must not materially mislead the audience.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">BBC News CEO Deborah Turness admitted, “We are owning where we have made mistakes, finding out what went wrong, acting on the findings, and we&#8217;ve said we&#8217;re sorry.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">BBC&#8217;s director general, Tim Davie, said the report “identifies a significant failing in relation to accuracy.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“It&#8217;s not for the government to say who should and shouldn&#8217;t work at the BBC,” British Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy stated. “My job is to make sure that we uphold the highest standards and that the public and parliament can have confidence in the BBC. I think, given the recent events, that has been called into question, but the BBC in recent weeks has made big strides to try to reset that relationship with the public, and show that they have grip on the very, very serious issues.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The Campaign Against Antisemitism responded to the report, calling its recommendations — which included creating “a new leadership role in news documentaries and current affairs,” issuing “new editorial guidance,” and a new “first gate” process — “frankly insulting. &#8230; The report says nothing we didn&#8217;t already know: paying licence fee money to a Hamas family was bad. The report yields no new insight, and almost reads like it&#8217;s trying to exonerate the BBC.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In March, a producer for the BBC contacted the Israeli Embassy in London and asked if it could supply “an Israeli military voice” who would “be critical of” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&#8217;s military offensive against Hamas.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In August 2024, the BBC rejected a call from more than 200 Jewish staffers, contractors, suppliers, and contributors for a formal investigation into its alleged antisemitic reporting.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“We write to you today to request an urgent formal investigation by the BBC board into systemic problems of anti-Semitism and bias at the BBC, alongside senior management’s demonstrable failure to properly address the issue,” the letter stated, adding the signatories’ “anguish and disbelief because we fear we have now exhausted the process of raising our very serious concerns about anti-Jewish racism with BBC Management,” <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/01/bbc-chairman-dismisses-staff-complaints-anti-semitism/#:~:text=If%20other%20minorities%20were%20treated,pointed%20to%20the%20whistleblower%20process.">according</a> to The Telegraph.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">The letter pointed out “impartiality breaches in matters of public controversy relating to Israel and Gaza,” broadcast mistakes that “suggest bias,” and an account from anonymous sources “of the fear and mental health toll on Jewish BBC staff, their feelings of isolation and alienation from their bosses and experiences of prejudice and racism at work.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">But BBC Chairman Samir Shah dismissed the call for a formal investigation, responding that the BBC was “successful” in creating an “inclusive working environment where people from all backgrounds feel welcome, safe and supported. &#8230; I am satisfied, however, that where we have made errors, the executive has acted appropriately and handled matters in accordance to the guidance as they apply to my colleagues. Following your correspondence, I have asked the executive to review the papers you sent and to see if there’s anything included that has not been previously considered.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In November 2023, the BBC, which had presented an editorial slant against Israel for years, was forced to apologize for falsely accusing the Israel Defense Forces of committing war crimes in its attack on a Hamas command node at the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">A BBC presenter falsely claimed twice on air that Reuters had reported that the IDF had targeted medical teams, as well as Arabic speakers, instead of what Reuters actually reported, which was that the IDF had included medical teams and Arabic speakers on its team.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Later, another presenter offered a muted apology on behalf of the network, stating, “And now, an apology from the BBC. BBC News, as it covered initial reports that Israeli forces had entered Gaza’s main hospital, we said that medical teams and Arabic speakers were being targeted; this was incorrect and misquoted a Reuters report. We should have said IDF forces included medical teams and Arabic speakers for this operation.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">A man reportedly looking for his wife at a Lexington, Kentucky, church gunned down a grandmother of eight and her daughter after shooting a state trooper near the city’s airport on Sunday. The gunman also shot the two women’s husbands, one of whom is the pastor at the church, before police responding to the emergency shot and killed him.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The suspected shooter, Guy House, 47, shot a state trooper outside Blue Grass Airport before fleeing, then carjacked a vehicle and headed to Richmond Road Baptist Church, the Lexington Herald Leader <a href="https://www.kentucky.com/news/local/crime/article310590260.html">reported.</a> The small church is comprised mainly of families related to one another, Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2025/07/13/us/kentucky-shooting-lexington-church-ky">said</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Beverly Gumm, 72, and her daughter, Star Rutherford, were cooking lunch in the basement of the church on Sunday afternoon when House barged in and asked for his wife, the mother of their three children, who is Gumm’s daughter and Rutherford’s sister. When they informed him she wasn’t there, he said, “Well, someone is gonna have to die, then,” and started shooting, Rutherford told the Herald-Leader, which added, “Gumm, 72, ducked and avoided the first shot, but the second hit her in the chest, killing her. The man then went outside and shot and killed another of Rutherford’s sisters — Christina Combs, 32 — and injured two others: Gumm’s husband and the longtime pastor of the church, Jerry Gumm, and Combs’ husband, Randy Combs.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Another daughter of Gumm’s, Rachael Barnes, said Combs had five children, including a 6-month-old baby, and had plans to graduate from nursing school in December. Of her slain mother and sister, she said, “They were both fantastic moms.” She said Jerry Gumm and Randy Combs were in critical but stable condition. The injured trooper is reportedly also in stable condition.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Star Rutherford said she held her mother as she died. Gumm’s surviving daughters said she was a “faithful member of the church who loved God,” and her “love language” was feeding “homeless people, drug addicts, strangers.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“In 2022, the Lexington Police Department and Madison County Sheriff’s office featured House as the Crimestoppers ‘Wanted Person of the Week,’” Fox 56 r<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKEVJXLCGec">eported</a>. “He was wanted for wanton endangerment of a police officer.” Other charges against House included theft of a vehicle, fleeing and evading, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and receiving stolen property.</p>

Gunman Opens Fire At Kentucky Church After Shooting State Trooper, 2 Dead

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Over a dozen Muslim imams from Europe defied the anti-Israel sentiments of much of the Muslim world and met in Jerusalem with Israeli President Isaac Herzog this week.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Herzog noted that on October 8, 2023, the day after the Hamas massacre of 1200 Israelis, he visited the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba — which was struck by an Iranian ballistic missile on June 19 —  where Jewish and Arab staff worked beside one another to treat the wounded and the injured.</p>
<p>Imam Hassen Chalghoumi, the chairman of the Conference of Imams of France and the chair of People for Peace, led the group of imams; he stated that the group prayed for the hostages taken by Hamas on October 7. “He introduced each of the members of the delegation to Herzog and explained that they all love, respect, and admire Israel, believe in its right to defend itself, applaud its resilience, and are opposed to terrorism, violence, and the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas and Iran,” the Jerusalem Post noted.</p>
<p>Imam Youssef Masbeh, who came from the Bilal Mosque in the northern Dutch city of Alkmaar, chanted a song of praise for Herzog and suggested everyone sing HaTikvah (The Hope), Israel’s national anthem. Masbeh sang the same lyrics as the anthem but in Arabic and used a different melody.</p>
<p>“Here in Israel, we want peace,” Herzog told the group. “We want to see all our hostages back home, and we want to see an end to the suffering of the people in Gaza, too. We want to see better lives for everyone.” He said he hoped “peace will come with Syria, with Lebanon, <em style="font-weight: inherit;">inshallah</em> even with Saudi Arabia, and that we will continue moving forward.”</p>
<p>“When they finished, they all rose and individually and collectively embraced Herzog,”  the Jerusalem Post reported.</p>
<p>The day after the imams met with Herzog, Masbeh’s mosque in Alkmaar suspended him. “Following recent political statements by the imam, the board has decided to suspend him with immediate effect,” the mosque <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/dutch-imam-suspended-after-meeting-isaac-herzog-delegation-israel">stated</a> on Instagram. “As of this moment, the institution has no relationship with him.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">“The fact that this judge compared the AR-15 – a weapon of war that’s used on the battlefield – to a Swiss Army Knife completely undermines the credibility of this decision and is a slap in the face to the families who’ve lost loved ones to this weapon,” Newsom claimed. “We’re not backing down from this fight, and we’ll continue pushing for common sense gun laws that will save lives.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">But the AR-15 is not a “weapon of war,” and it is not “used on the battlefield” by modern militaries. The AR-15 is the civilian version of the U.S. military’s M4 rifle. The M4 is able to fire in a fully automatic mode, while the AR-15 is a semi-automatic rifle.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In December 2021, after the Supreme Court decided to leave a Texas anti-abortion law in place, Newsom responded by threatening gun sellers and manufacturers with fines of “at least $10,000,” posting on X, “SCOTUS is letting private citizens in Texas sue to stop abortion?! If that’s the precedent then we’ll let Californians sue those who put ghost guns and assault weapons on our streets. If TX can ban abortion and endanger lives, CA can ban deadly weapons of war and save lives.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">In July 2022, Newsom signed a law permitting lawsuits to be filed against gun makers. The law, <a href="https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB1594">AB 1594</a>, created a “firearm industry standard of conduct,” including the requirement to “[e]stablish, implement, and enforce reasonable controls” and “[t]ake reasonable precautions to ensure that the firearm industry member does not sell, distribute, or provide a firearm-related product to a downstream distributor or retailer of firearm-related products who fails to establish, implement, and enforce reasonable controls.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In June 2023, Newsom <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/08/newsom-gun-control-amendment-00100954">proposed</a> a 28th Amendment to the Constitution that would ban “assault weapons,” implement universal background checks for gun purchases, raise the federal minimum age for buying a firearm from 18 to 21, and impose a mandatory “reasonable” waiting period for all gun purchases.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In September 2023, Newsom signed into law a bill that “specifically bans people from carrying guns in 26 places, including public parks and playgrounds, public demonstrations and gatherings, amusement parks, churches, banks, zoos and ‘any other privately owned commercial establishment that is open to the public’ unless the owner puts up a sign saying guns are allowed,” the AP <a href="https://apnews.com/article/california-guns-ammunition-tax-school-safety-0870a673a3d4e85c78466897cfd7ff6f">noted</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">He’s not anti-gun at all.</p>

‘Not Anti-Gun At All’: Newsom’s Latest Attempt To Disguise His Rampant Leftism

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee, celebrated the fact that people in his party embrace “Globalize the Intifada,” contending that you “win through addition” and the party should “celebrate” the difference of opinion.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Globalize the Intifada” <a href="https://www.ajc.org/news/what-does-globalize-the-intifada-mean-and-how-can-it-lead-to-targeting-jews-with-violence">is</a> a “phrase used by pro-Palestinian activists that calls for aggressive resistance against Israel and those who support Israel. The most prominent expressions of intifada have been through violence so this phrase is often understood by those saying and hearing it as encouraging violence against Israelis, Jews, and institutions supporting Israel,” according to the American Jewish Committee.</p>
<p>During the most recent terrorist intifada, over a thousand Israelis were killed, predominantly civilians. During an interview on PBS Newshour, host Amna Nawaz asked the Democratic chairman about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refusing to condemn the incendiary phrase: “What about concerns from some of your Jewish colleagues in particular about him not outright condemning the phrase ‘Globalize the Intifada’ in a recent interview? Some of your Jewish colleagues have said that that could be very disturbing, potentially dangerous. Do you agree with that?”</p>
<p>Martin said he&#8217;s happy to have that point of view in the Democratic coalition.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“There’s no candidate in this party I agree 100% of the time with, to be honest with you,” Martin answered. “There’s things that I don’t agree with Mamdani that he said. But at the end of the day, I always believe, as a Democratic Party chair in Minnesota for the last 14 years and now the chair of the DNC, that you win through addition. You win by bringing people into your coalition.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“We have conservative Democrats. We have centrist Democrats. We have labor progressives like me, and we have this new brand of Democrat, which is the leftist,” he stated. “And we win by bringing people into that coalition. And at the end of the day, for me, that’s the type of party we’re going to lead. We are a big-tent party. Yes, it leads to dissent and debate and there’s differences of opinions on a whole host of issues, but we should celebrate that as a party and recognize at the end of the day, we’re better because of it.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Yet prior to that statement in which Martin spoke of including all perspectives, he made it clear that political positions were secondary to the need to regain power, declaring, “We can’t just be in a perpetual state of resisting Donald Trump. Of course, we have to resist Donald Trump. There’s no doubt about it for all the reasons we just talked about, but we also have to give people a sense of what we’re for, what the Democratic Party is fighting for, and what we would do if they put us back in power. And that’s really critical.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Just between May 2001 and May 2002, prior to the bombing at Hebrew University, there were these massacres: five Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at the HaSharon Mall in May 2001; 21 Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at the Dolphinarium Discotheque in June 2001; 15 Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at Sbarro’s Pizza in August 2001, including six children and a 31-year-old woman who was the only child of her parents and was five months pregnant; 11 Israelis murdered in a bus bombing on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem on December 1, 2001; 15 more Israelis murdered the very next day in a Haifa suicide bombing; 11 more Israelis murdered in a bus attack 10 days later in Immanuel; six Israelis murdered in an attack at a bat-mitzvah in January 2002; 11 more Jews killed in an attack on a yeshiva in March 2002, including a five-month-old child; 11 Jews murdered in a bombing at Café Moment in March 2002; 30 Israelis killed as they celebrated Passover in Netanya on March 27, 2002; 16 Israelis murdered in a suicide bombing four days later at the Matza restaurant, and 16 Israelis murdered in Rishon LeZion in May 2002.</p>
