President Donald Trump unloaded on the legacy media after a Thursday morning press conference — which was meant to correct the record on the U.S. military&#8217;s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities — held by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to praise Hegseth for delivering one of the &#8220;most professional&#8221; press conferences he&#8217;d ever seen and called for the media outlets that had pushed ahead with leaked intelligence to &#8220;fire everyone involved.&#8221;
Trump prefaced the press conference — which he&#8217;d teased just a day earlier — with <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114749580476669594">another post</a>, saying, &#8220;Rumor is that the Failing New York Times and Fake News CNN will be firing the reporters who made up the FAKE stories on the Iran Nuclear sites because they got it so wrong. Let&#8217;s see what happens?&#8221;
Once the press conference ended, he took a sharper tone.
&#8220;One of the greatest, most professional, and most &#8216;confirming&#8217; News Conferences I have ever seen! The Fake News should fire everyone involved in this Witch Hunt, and apologize to our great warriors, and everyone else!&#8221; the president <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114749815668266552">posted</a>, piggy-backing on Hegseth&#8217;s comments.
Hegseth had said during his remarks that media outlets seemed so desperate to attack Trump that they didn&#8217;t care if the framing of their stories undermined the brave actions of the men and women of the United States military who had actually carried out the mission.

The president added <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114749839848044904">his own comments</a> clarifying some of what was seen at the Iranian nuclear site — cars and trucks that some in the media have alleged might have been moving nuclear materials out of the site prior to the attack.
&#8220;The cars and small trucks at the site were those of concrete workers trying to cover up the top of the shafts. Nothing was taken out of facility. Would take too long, too dangerous, and very heavy and hard to move!&#8221; he declared.
Trump doubled down, attacking the media again a short time later, <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114750055630968441">posting</a> in all capital letters, &#8220;FAKE NEWS REPORTERS FROM CNN &amp; THE NEW YORK TIMES SHOULD BE FIRED, IMMEDIATELY!!! White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt jabbed at members of the press corps during a Thursday briefing as she touted the success of Operation Midnight Hammer.
Leavitt’s regularly-scheduled briefing came just hours after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hosted a news conference to clear up confusion surrounding the United States military’s strikes on Iranian Nuclear facilities — confusion that was due in large part to a CNN report based on a “preliminary” intelligence assessment.
Leavitt began by reiterating the points made by Hegseth during that news conference, saying that the intended targets — three major nuclear facilities in Iran — had been rendered inoperable after the strikes.

“The objective of Operation Midnight Hammer was to destroy the regime’s nuclear enrichment capacity and stop the grave nuclear threat posed to the United States, Israel, and the rest of the free world,” Leavitt said. “The mission was an overwhelming success!”
The press secretary also praised the military for not only carrying out the mission successfully, but for doing so without anyone giving the game away.

“This was one of the most secretive and successful operations in United States history. I think many of you in this room would agree with that because none of you knew about the strike until it took place,” Leavitt added.
The press secretary also called out CNN reporter Natasha Bertrand — who reported on the preliminary intelligence assessment that claimed the targets were not truly destroyed — reminding others in the room of Bertrand’s connection to legacy media attempts to cast doubt on the Hunter Biden laptop story.

‘None Of You Knew’: Leavitt Tweaks Press Over How ‘Secretive’ Operation Midnight Hammer Was

&#8220;Law &amp; Order: Special Victims Unit&#8221; star Mariska Hargitay revealed the huge gamble she took at her auditions for the gritty police procedural — and the fact that the whole scenario unfolded directly in front of series creator Dick Wolf.
During an appearance on the &#8220;Call Her Daddy&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AejC6m3w6PM">podcast</a> with host Alex Cooper, the 61-year-old actress confessed that she marched into her first interview and instructed Wolf to send another actress home: &#8220;This is my part.&#8221;
Hargitay explained that, at the time, she hadn&#8217;t really grasped just how big Wolf was in the television industry — but she knew the risk was worth it after she read the script for the first time.
&#8220;So I read it and I said, and I never had this experience, ‘I&#8217;ve never loved anything more. This is my show. This is the most progressive show I&#8217;ve ever seen. I love it. I need it. I have to do the show,’&#8221; she said, and with that in mind, she went for her second callback audition in front of Wolf — who had already earned a slew of nominations and one Emmy for the original &#8220;Law &amp; Order&#8221; series between 1992 and 1998.
&#8220;And then I had the audition and then I got a call back and on the second callback, Dick Wolf was there,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I see another girl in the waiting room and I&#8217;m like, &#8216;Oh no, this is not happening.&#8217; So I walked in there and I said, &#8216;Listen to me.&#8217; I didn&#8217;t know that Dick Wolf was like, king of television. And I go, &#8216;I don’t know who that is out there, but let me tell you something. This is my part.'&#8221;
Wolf, she said, seemed more amused than anything else. &#8220;He&#8217;s like, &#8216;Oh, is it?&#8217; And I said, &#8216;Yeah. So you tell her to go home.'&#8221;
Once the audition was over, Wolf gave Hargitay his notes on her performance. &#8220;I&#8217;m like, &#8216;Those are good notes. Thank you.&#8217; And he&#8217;s like, &#8216;Oh, are they, are they good notes?'&#8221;
Hargitay landed the role of Olivia Benson on the long-running drama, which explores sex crimes in Manhattan — but she admitted that no one actually sent the other actress home that day, mainly because she wasn&#8217;t there to read for the same part.
&#8220;Then it turns out that the beautiful, talented actress that was in the waiting room was there for another part. And she was in the pilot, and she&#8217;s a fantastic actor, actress. I was like, &#8216;Get her out of here.&#8217; And of course, you know, we&#8217;re friends now for life,&#8221; Hargitay said, although she did not reveal the name of the actress in question.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Reveals Huge Gamble She Took During Auditions

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth laid into a reporter who asked why he hadn&#8217;t specifically congratulated the female pilots who had been a part of the United States&#8217; recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities after they stated: &#8220;The early messages that you sent out only congratulated &#8216;the boys.'&#8221;
Hegseth, in the hours after the mission had been completed, touted the success of &#8220;our boys on those bombers&#8221; – and The New York Times, among others, complained that not all of those involved had been male.
Times Pentagon reporter John Ismay, most notably, wrote, &#8220;In the briefing, Hegseth referred to B-2 pilots as ‘our boys on those bombers,’ yet both men and women have been trained to fly them.&#8221;
When that topic came up during Thursday morning&#8217;s briefing, Hegseth bowed his head slightly, laughing, before responding.

&#8220;I hope the men and women of our country sign up to do such brave and audacious things,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;But when you spin it as because I say &#8216;our boys in bombers&#8217; as a common phrase – I&#8217;ll keep saying things like that, whether they&#8217;re men or women. I&#8217;m very proud of that female pilot, just like I&#8217;m very proud of those male pilots.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t care if it&#8217;s a male or a female in the cockpit, and the American people don&#8217;t care,&#8221; he concluded. &#8220;But it&#8217;s the obsession with race and gender in this department that&#8217;s changed priorities, and we don&#8217;t do that anymore. We don&#8217;t play your little games.&#8221;

‘We Don’t Play Your Little Games’: Hegseth Smokes Reporter Asking Why He Didn’t Mention Female Pilot

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth once again dragged the media as he described what really happened when the United States launched targeted strikes over the weekend on Iranian nuclear facilities, saying that the targets had absolutely been destroyed and media outlets didn&#8217;t say so only because they were &#8220;rooting against Trump.&#8221;
Hegseth held the Thursday morning press conference, announced one day prior by President Donald Trump, to correct the record after CNN and other outlets ran with early reports — apparently based on leaked intelligence — that the strikes had not been as successful as the Trump administration said.
Hegseth began by explaining that the leaked intelligence report had been what was called &#8220;low confidence&#8221; — meaning that those who had evaluated it believed it to be at best premature and at worst wholly inaccurate — and that they fully expected more complete and accurate reports to follow. Still, multiple media outlets ran with the early intel.

Even the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which initially issued the report, referred to it as &#8220;preliminary&#8221; and &#8220;low confidence,&#8221; Hegseth noted, and then pointed to the slew of updated assessments that had not made it into the New York Times and other outlets&#8217; coverage.
&#8220;Before I pass to the Chairman, because you and I mean specifically you, the press corps, because you cheer against Trump so hard, like in your DNA and in your blood, to cheer against Trump. You want him not to be successful so bad, you have to cheer against the efficacy of the strikes,&#8221; Hegseth said. &#8220;You have to hope they were not effective. Let’s take half-truths, spun information, leaked information, and then spin it, spin it in every way we can to try to cause doubt and manipulate the public mind over whether or not our brave pilots were successful.&#8221;

&#8220;How many stories have been written about how hard it is to, I don’t know, fly a plane for 36 hours? Has MSNBC done that story? Has Fox? Have we done the story how hard that is? Have we done it two or three times?&#8221; Hegseth asked. &#8220;So that American people understand about how difficult it is to shoot a drone from an F-15 or 16 or F-22 or F35? Or what it’s like to man a Patriot battery. Or how hard it is to refuel midair, giving the American people an understanding of how complex and sophisticated this mission really was?&#8221;
“There are so many aspects of what our brave men and women did that because of the hatred of this press corps are undermined because people are trying to leak and spin that it wasn’t successful,&#8221; Hegseth continued. &#8220;It’s irresponsible. Folks in this room are privy to that information because of the proximity here in the Pentagon. It’s an important responsibility.&#8221;
Hegseth went on to point out that while the goal might be to paint President Trump as ineffective or worse, the consequence was that it &#8220;undermined&#8221; the complex and dangerous work being done every day by men and women in uniform on behalf of the American people and their interests worldwide.
“And time and time again, classified information is leaked or peddled for political purposes to try to make the president look bad. And what’s really happening is you’re undermining the success of incredible B-2 pilots and incredible F-35 pilots and incredible refuelers and incredible air defenders who accomplished their mission, set back a nuclear program in ways that other presidents would have dreamed,&#8221; Hegseth explained. &#8220;How about we celebrate that? How about talk about how special America is, that only we have these capabilities? I think it’s too much to ask, unfortunately, for the fake news, so we’re used to that.&#8221;

‘Choose Your Word’: Hegseth Says Iranian Nuclear Facilities Were ‘Obliterated,’ ‘Destroyed’

President Donald Trump delivered a scathing rebuke of the state of Israel over the &#8220;witch hunt&#8221; targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — a case that began in 2020 — is set to move forward on Monday.
Trump made it clear in his <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114746355912265245">post</a>, shared first via his Truth Social platform, that both he and the United States would have Netanyahu&#8217;s back — and he called for the case to be dropped immediately, praising the Prime Minister&#8217;s recent actions with regard to the conflict with Iran.
&#8220;BREAKING NEWS … I was shocked to hear that the State of Israel, which has just had one of its Greatest Moments in History, and is strongly led by Bibi Netanyahu, is continuing its ridiculous Witch Hunt against their Great War Time Prime Minister!&#8221; Trump began.

The president then pivoted to address Iran and argued that Netanyahu had handled the situation perfectly.
&#8220;Bibi and I just went through HELL together, fighting a very tough and brilliant longtime enemy of Israel, Iran, and Bibi could not have been better, sharper, or stronger in his LOVE for the incredible Holy Land,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Anybody else would have suffered losses, embarrassment, and chaos! Bibi Netanyahu was a WARRIOR, like perhaps no other Warrior in the History of Israel, and the result was something that nobody thought was possible, a complete elimination of potentially one of the biggest and most powerful Nuclear Weapons anywhere in the World, and it was going to happen, SOON!&#8221;
&#8220;We were fighting, literally, for the Survival of Israel, and there is nobody in Israel’s History that fought harder or more competently than Bibi Netanyahu,&#8221; Trump said, turning his attention to the legal case against the Israeli Prime Minister. &#8220;Despite all of this, I just learned that Bibi has been summoned to Court on Monday for the continuation of this long running, (He has been going through this &#8216;Horror Show&#8217; since May of 2020 – Unheard of! This is the first time a sitting Israeli Prime Minister has ever been on trial.), politically motivated case, &#8216;concerning cigars, a Bugs Bunny doll, and numerous other unfair charges&#8217; in order to do him great harm.&#8221;
Using similar language to what he&#8217;d used to describe the legal cases against him in the lead up to the 2024 presidential election, Trump continued: &#8220;Such a WITCH HUNT, for a man who has given so much, is unthinkable to me. He deserves much better than this, and so does the State of Israel. Bibi Netanyahu’s trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State.&#8221;
&#8220;Perhaps there is no one that I know who could have worked in better harmony with the President of the United States, ME, than Bibi Netanyahu,&#8221; he concluded. &#8220;It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu.
