Politically ambitious anti-Trump attorney Michael Avenatti challenged Donald Trump Jr. to a mixed-martial arts fight on Tuesday, because, of course he did.
“I’m having lunch with Michael Avenatti at the Vanity Fair Summit and he’s proposing a three-round mixed-martial arts fight with Donald Trump Jr. for charity. No joke,” tweeted reporter Dylan Byers.
“This would be for two great causes. I’m in,” Avenatti tweeted, confirming the MMA fight challenge.
Thus far, Avenatti, who’s representing porn star Stormy Daniels, and Trump Jr. have only traded jabs on Twitter.
Trump Jr. captioned a tweet on Monday regarding the prison release of disgraced former Congressmen Anthony Weiner. “Who else is excited about Avanetti/Weiner 2020?!? It’s gonna be Carlos Dangerous,” he wrote, making reference to Weiner’s sexting alias “Carlos Danger.”
Irritated by Trump Jr., Avenatti replied in his typical over-the-top fashion, “Bif: If I were you, the last thing I would be doing is referencing other people getting out of federal prison. Because after you are indicted, you will likely be passing them on your way in. [By the way], they don’t have silver spoons or gold toilets in the joint. Buckle up Buttercup.”
On Monday, Avenatti launched his “Fight PAC” via Twitter, playing off his frequently used #FightClub hashtag and subsequent MMA challenge.
“Our mission is simple: We are not afraid to FIGHT for what we believe in – the values, principles, and ideals that made America, America. The stakes are too high and the risk is too great. We can no longer afford to bring nail clippers to a gun fight. It is time to fight fire with fire,” reads the site, adding, “The Fight PAC is focused on defeating Donald Trump’s Republican cronies and enablers across the nation, up and down the ballot. We are fighting for Democrats in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and the territories. Our ask is simple: join us and be a part of the #FightClub.”
