<p>Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) reportedly had federal agents show up to his home on Wednesday and seize items as part of an ongoing investigation.</p>
<p>&#8220;At Cuellar’s home, located in the 8200 block of Estate Drive, federal vehicles were seen with cases and other items taken from the congressman’s house as over two dozen agents filed in and out of the residence Wednesday afternoon,&#8221; The Monitor <a href="https://myrgv.com/local-news/2022/01/19/fbi-activity-underway-near-rep-cuellars-home-in-laredo/">reported</a>. &#8220;By around 7:30 p.m., a group of agents loaded large bags, plastic bins, and a computer into a federal vehicle. Some agents appeared to be logging the items.&#8221;</p>
<p>The FBI released a statement confirming the activity, saying that agents were &#8220;conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity&#8221; and that they &#8220;cannot provide further comment on an ongoing investigation.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cuellar&#8217;s office released a statement on Wednesday evening, saying, “Congressman Cuellar will fully cooperate in any investigation. He is committed to ensuring that justice and the law are upheld.”</p>
<p>The report from The Monitor said that agents worked well into the night.</p>
<p>Investigative reporter Valerie Gonzalez noted that federal agents were also present at his campaign offices.</p>
<p>&#8220;Federal agents were also at the campaign HQ office this afternoon,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;It wasn’t included in the FBI statement, but two of the vehicles seen there at 4:20 pm later showed up at the residence. An agent wearing an FBI jacket climbed out of one.&#8221;</p>

<p>Newsweek <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/fbi-seizes-items-laredo-texas-home-congressman-henry-cuellar-1671018">added</a>:</p>

<p><em>He said that the Biden administration shouldn&#8217;t allow undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States. He has also urged Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to visit the border and speak with local law enforcement, elected officials and business leaders to better understand the local impact of migrants at the border.</em></p></blockquote>
<p>Cuellar slammed the Biden administration back in March for how it was handling the border crisis and alleged that it is “purposely withholding” information on the number of migrants being released into the U.S.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-lawmaker-biden-admin-purposely-withholding-number-of-migrants-being-released-into-u-s">reported</a> at the time that when asked during the interview to react to numbers showing the border is being overwhelmed, Cuellar, whose congressional district is on the border, said the administration was not releasing the full numbers of how many migrants are being released into the U.S.</p>
<p>“Yeah, look, we can play with words. Is that a challenge? Or is it a crisis? Let’s look at the numbers, since August of last year, the numbers have been increasing,” he said. “In especially October, November, and December, we were hitting 70,000. In January, we had 78,000. This is again, under the Trump administration, now moving into the Biden administration. Biden might have started under Trump, but when you’re the president, you own the situation, whether it’s a success or not a success.”</p>
<p>“I think in February we’re going to get about 100,000. And again, I don’t care what we call it, but I can tell you this, those numbers of people that are being released, they’re purposely withholding that information,” he continued. “They’ve been told not to withhold that information. I now know that they’re bringing people from McAllen over to Laredo, processing them in Laredo, and they’re going to release them in my community. I represent the both areas, the valley and of course, part of the valley in Laredo, and I’ve seen this before. Don’t let the local community know what you’re doing, where they’re striving to bring people in from the valley, process them and Laredo, release them at a bus station. And again, I’ve seen this this before in the past.”</p>
