An apparent weather-related cancellation brought out the worst in some North Dakota State Fair attendees — who trashed the concert venue after learning that headliner Kid Rock would not perform as planned.
The “All Summer Long” artist was scheduled to take the stage in Minot, ND, at 9:30pm local time — following a two-and-a-half hour set from opening act Night Ranger — but wind and lightning caused officials to push the start time back several times.
Finally, around 11:00 pm, an officer from the Ward County Sheriff’s Department walked onto the stage and delivered the bad news to thousands of waiting fans: Kid Rock’s concert had been canceled.
Angry fans began complaining, throwing beer cans and other garbage in the direction of the stage. several climbed onto the stage, and at least one was reportedly escorted from the venue in handcuffs.

The rocker was also angry that the show had to be canceled, and he expressed his opinion in a tweet, saying, “SO PISSED OFF we could not play for a sold out crowd tonight in Minot, ND (because of high winds) — I know it sucks but none of us can control Mother Nature. Please be safe leaving and take care of each other. — Kid Rock.”

State Fair officials also offered a statement regarding the last-minute cancellation, and promised to offer refunds to all ticket holders.
“Due to the safety concerns of the high winds, lightning, and severe weather in the area, the Kid Rock concert had to be cancelled. The North Dakota State Fair will be issuing refunds to all ticket purchasers,” the statement read.
Kid Rock recently made news when he did an exclusive interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson and explained exactly why — although there have been those who have tried — he could never be canceled.
“Why haven’t you been canceled? Like, people aren’t allowed to say what they think. You are,” Carlson said.
“I am uncancelable,” Kid Rock agreed.
“Why’s that?” Carlson asked.
“I don’t give a f***,” Kid Rock said with a laugh, and Carlson laughed too.
“I’m not in bed with any big corporate things at the end of the day,” he continued. “There’s nobody I’m beholden to. No record companies, no corporate interests, no nothing. You can’t cancel me. I love it when they try.”
