Celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Josh Brolin, and others took to social media to blame guns and politicians for Monday’s mass shooting at a Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee, that left six people dead.

A 28-year-old woman who identified as a transgender man went to the Covenant School campus on Monday, shot through the locked doors, then entered the facility and killed three students and three adults before being fatally shot by Nashville police officers.

On Tuesday, Handler, a comedian, tweeted, “Every politician who votes against gun reform is a murderer.”

“Watching children get shot and taking money from the NRA is a crime against humanity,” she added. “Same people who denied climate change, because ‘it’s not a problem.’ Well, look at us all now.”

Actress and comedian Schumer wrote on her Instagram, “Imagine your child being murdered in a school shooting and then having to relive it every time another one occurs.”

“Knowing nothing has been done,” she added. “The Tennessee state legislature is still working on a bill that’d arm teachers. WE TRIED IT YOUR WAY. It didn’t work. Every shooting gun sales go up. This isn’t the way. [everytown] for gun safety can help.”

Actor Josh Brolin reacted to the deadly shooting by telling his millions of followers on Instagram, “ENOUGH!!!!!!”

“Whether you’re a ‘It’s the people not the guns’ or a ‘It’s the guns, not the people’ to say that our country is actively doing anything in its power to help avert this absolute random slaughter of our children, categorizes you in either total denial or living some fantasy of ambush that should render you unfit to take care of yourself or others,” Brolin wrote.

“I thought all bets were off when children became targets,” he added. “Whether pedophiles or shooters, end it f***ing now no matter what psychological/sociological manipulative spin any corporation puts on it.”

“Make our country great again by having some people balls reinstated into the ‘By the people, For the people’ system that was intended and has literally been bought out. F*** You, America, for not protecting your children,” the actor concluded.

Singer Demi Lovato posted a report on her Instagram Story about the number of mass shootings in 2023 and the lack of “gun safety bills signed” by Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee, MetroUK noted.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted, “BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS NOW!”

The Oscar award-winner followed up in a second post that read, “Common sense gun legislation. Safe storage. Magazine limits. Background checks. Ban assault weapons. Choose children over guns.”

Country singer Roseanne Cash slammed Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) who tweeted that she and her husband were “heartbroken” about the Covenant school shooting.

“Don’t even,” Cash wrote. “You vote against every common sense gun control bill that comes across your desk, you’ve taken over $1 million from the NRA and you rank 14th in all Congress for NRA contributions. Spare us the hand-wringing [MarshaBlackburn].”

Country singer Mickey Guyton tweeted, “As a mother, I’m pissed the f*** off. Shame on every single politician ok with doing nothing as children are getting assassinated on an everyday basis in a place that is supposed to be their safe haven.”

Kings of Leon rocker Nathan Followill tweeted, “A school shooting just happened near my sons school. Multiple children dead but let’s make sure that the gunman had his 2nd Amendment rights. F*** you Bill Lee and f*** the NRA.”
