Actress Idina Menzel has opened up about the IVF struggle she and husband Aaron Lohr have gone through over the last four years.

The 51-year-old actress/singer said that after more rounds than she cared to recall of in vitro fertilization, she was exhausted and decided it was time to move on, InStyle magazine reported.

“At a certain time, you’re exhausted emotionally and physically,” Menzel shared with the outlet. “It becomes apparent that it is just time to let that go and move on.”

Menzel and actor Lohr tied the knot in 2017. The singer shared that she “didn’t 100%” want a second child at age 48 fearing how hard it would be, along with everything she still wanted “to do in my career.”

In addition to being on tour, Menzel had numerous doctors appointments and medical processes she was going through trying to get pregnant. She said she quickly learned, “The more you [try for it] — and when it doesn’t happen, you’re upset, you realize how much you want it.”

The actress opened up even more about what she went through in her IVF struggle in the upcoming documentary, “Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?” which will hit Disney+ on December 9.

“I didn’t think I wanted to have a baby,” Menzel explains in the clip. “But then Aaron has been the most amazing man to my son — who has a wonderful dad — who has found a way to have his own incredible relationship with Walker.”

The “Enchanted” star shares a son with her ex-husband of 10 years Taye Diggs.

Menzel said her documentary “was less about the road to The Garden and more about the things we do on the way: the struggle and challenge of balancing motherhood with a career and making choices and what our priorities are.”

“It’s the intimacy and letting people have a window into my soul … and what makes me tick,” she added.
