The Daily Wire has exclusively obtained footage showing Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe evading a reporter’s question about Loudoun County prosecutor Buta Biberaj, who campaigned with McAuliffe earlier this month before The Daily Wire’s blockbuster report about an alleged sexual assault in a girls bathroom at a Loudoun County public school.
Biberaj was the prosecutor at the center of that report. A “progressive,” backed by leftist mega-donor George Soros’s Justice and Public Safety PAC, Biberaj ran on a platform of criminal justice reform, including a pledge not to prosecute certain low-level crimes. Seemingly at odds with that pledge, Biberaj appeared in court to personally prosecute Smith, who was arrested for disorderly conduct at a June 22nd Loudoun County school board meeting on expanding the district’s gender-neutral bathroom policy, after the superintendent said that he had no knowledge or record of a sexual assault in a district school bathroom.
The initially friendly McAuliffe walks away from the reporter after she asks him whether he “still supports Scott Smith’s prosecutor.”

After hearing the question, McAuliffe, startled and apparently ready to escape, asks the reporter whether she’s “vaccinated,” to which she replies that she’s had two doses of Moderna. He then begins quickly shuffling off, and when she repeats the question, he says, “I hope you voted already!”
Biberaj is heavily connected with McAuliffe, according to Fox News.
“McAuliffe, who is running against Republican gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin, has previously praised Biberaj as a ‘champion’ for criminal justice reform. He fundraised and campaigned for her in 2019, saying she would bring ‘real criminal justice reform’ to Virginia,” per the outlet.
Fox News also notes several photos of Biberaj and McAuliffe together at political events and noted that Biberaj appeared at an event to support McAuliffe in early October.
“Biberaj, who has praised McAulliffe as being ‘part of the progress’ that Virginia needs, joined the former Democratic governor as recently as Oct. 2 at a campaign event in Leesburg,” Fox noted.
That event, of course, took place before The Daily Wire’s report on Loudoun County public schools, which noted that Biberaj appeared to make a special point of prosecuting Smith, even as she pledged leniency. Smith’s attorney told The Daily Wire that she was shocked Biberaj prosecuted the case at all.
“The idea that they would actually be seeking jail time, I’d guess in my 15 years the number of times I’ve seen that happen would be zero,” Smith’s lawyer, Elizabeth Lancaster said. “The idea that this is a person who we need to put in a cage was astounding to me given the social justice reform she was pushing. I was blown away.”
McAuliffe is making a habit of abruptly ending interviews that do not go his way. Just days ago, McAuliffe cut off WJLA reporter Nick Minock and demanded Minock “ask better questions,” per the New York Post.
The stations said his interview was supposed to last 20 minutes — but one of his staffers interrupted halfway through, just as McAuliffe accused his Republican rival of being “anti-vaxxer” with a “Donald Trump, right-wing agenda.”
“All right, we are over,” McAuliffe said, getting to his feet and walking off camera, the footage shows.
“C’mon, man. You should have asked better questions early on,” the Democrat admonished his interviewer, whose bio lists interviews with a who’s who of political leaders.
“You should have asked questions your viewers care about,” the politician complained — with Minock replying, “Well, we did.”
Minock had asked about vaccine mandates.
