WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s Cabinet completed almost 200 travel stops during the month of October as they worked to highlight the wins of the president’s second term to the American people.
Trump’s Cabinet members traveled every day in October, making 199 stops across 38 states and 141 congressional districts, a White House official confirmed to The Daily Wire.
“President Trump and his Cabinet traveled all across the country to meet Americans where they are, highlight the Administration’s historic achievements, and announce new policies and initiatives that will continue to make America wealthier, safer, and more prosperous,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers explained to The Daily Wire.
“The contrast couldn’t be clearer,” she added. “The Republicans’ common sense agenda puts American families and businesses first, while the extreme Democrats’ radical policies put Americans last.”
Eighteen agencies participated in that travel: the EPA, the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Labor, the Education Department, the Department of the Interior, the Justice Department, the Department of Energy, the Transportation Department, Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, the Treasury Department, the Department of Commerce, and the War Department.
The EPA and the SBA completed the most stops, with Lee Zeldin traveling to 21 stops and Kelly Loeffler traveling to 18. Brooke Rollins, the Secretary of Agriculture, made 16 stops, while Keith Sonderling made 15.
Texas was the most visited state, receiving 20 stops from Cabinet members, the White House confirmed. Florida had 18 stops, California had 13, and Ohio had 10. Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia each received nine stops, while Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania each received eight.
Arizona’s 6th district and Texas’ 27th district were the most visited districts in October.
The president himself has also been traveling far and wide throughout the United States. Trump made 29 stops over the past few weeks, often completing day trips on Air Force One pretty much every day of any given week, arriving back at the White House in the wee hours of the morning.
“For the past 32 days, I’ve traveled all across the country, spoken at 29 rallies,” he said Sunday at a rally in Iowa, adding, “You think that’s easy … And I’ve done it all for one very simple reason: To stop America-hating communists and jihadists from taking over the United States of America, by taking over the United States Congress.”
The president repeatedly emphasized that constant travel is often far more difficult to manage “than everything else.” But he also said that it’s worth it to him, telling the crowd, “I love being up here with you.”
Earlier this year, The Daily Wire reported that Trump’s Cabinet members made a total of 500 domestic trips between Memorial Day and Labor Day, touting the victories of the administration. Their goal was to communicate what the administration had been doing for “everyday Americans” in the weeks leading up to the midterm elections, and for the trips to the heartland to “inform future policymaking,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Daily Wire at the time.
