The sibling rivalry continues, and now it’s heating up.
Just a few days after Jamie Lynn Spears appeared on “Good Morning America” (GMA) promoting her new book and defending her intentions, big sister Britney Spears is clapping back. In a lengthy Twitter rant, Britney called out her security person for failing to procure her medication while he was on shift. But in between railing against that person, she mentioned how Jamie Lynn did actually betray her and wasn’t innocent like she claimed.
The pop star shared her thoughts Thursday night and quickly started trending on social media because of it. Britney wrote that Jamie Lynn was trying to profit off the whole situation first and foremost. She said “the 2 things that did bother me” about the interview were focused on that.
“She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time,” Britney wrote. “So why are they even talking about that unless she wants to sell a book at my expense?”
Next, the “Slave 4 U” composer brought up the highly publicized topic of Jamie Lynn remixing some of her songs in 2017 and profiting from them. “I know it may sound like a silly thing to most people but I wrote a lot of my songs and my sister was the baby,” Britney wrote on Thursday. “She never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to her!”
She followed up with a bit of sarcasm.
Britney continued: “I do remember asking my sister why she did that when she knew I was waiting to change my show and her only words were, ‘Well, it wasn’t my idea …’ Hope your book does well, Jamie Lynn!”
The majority of the singer’s post was about having a 104-degree fever and needing medication to deal with being sick, which she was unable to get. But she interspersed these complaints with general feelings about her treatment within her own family.
“But see, I always was the bigger person. [My family] all got to DO IT and PLAY ME and I always sat there and took it … So yes, they did ruin my dreams.”
“My family ruined my dreams 100 billion percent and try to make me look like the crazy one … My family loves to pull me down and hurt me always so I am disgusted with them!”
Spears concluded by saying, “Psss lesson learned from all this don’t trust people or anyone … make your cats and dogs your family and take care of your own dam self!”
Earlier this week, Jamie Lynn claimed innocence of wrongdoing when it came to Britney while on “GMA.”
“When (the conservatorship) was put into place, I was (a) 17-year-old, I was about to have a baby,” she told Juju Chang during the interview. “I didn’t understand what was happening nor was I focused on that. … I understand just as little about it then as I do now.”
“There was no me overseeing funds or something like that, and if there was (that perception), that was a misunderstanding, but either way I took no steps to be a part of it,” Jamie Lynn said.
