In an explosive move that sent shockwaves through Strasbourg, France, on Wednesday, the Patriots for Europe group officially threw its massive weight behind Israel, explicitly recognizing Jerusalem’s rights in Judea and Samaria while formally adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance charter against antisemitism.
The powerful political bloc slammed mounting European boycott campaigns and blasted anti-settlement sanctions as antisemitism driven by blatant double standards.

The blockbuster endorsement comes as a crucial lifeline for the Jewish state. Formed in June 2024 by then-Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the Czech Republic’s Andrej Babiš, and Austria’s Herbert Kickl, Patriots for Europe has surged into the third-largest group in the European Parliament with 86 seats spanning 14 national delegations. Led by Jordan Bardella of France’s National Rally, which features the rallying cry “Make Europe Great Again,” the group fights for national sovereignty, strict border control, and traditional values while rejecting Brussels’ overreach.
Now, Patriots for Europe is flexing its muscle to defend Israel just as leftist diplomats in Europe double down on hostilities. The move directly counters a hostile push spearheaded by Great Britain. Twelve nations, including France, Canada, and the United Kingdom, recently sparked fury by demanding Israel halt construction in Judea and Samaria, the historic Biblical heartland. U.K. Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband stoked the flames by announcing a planned embargo on West Bank imports from Israeli settlements.
The anti-Israel posture triggered explosive backlash in Jerusalem. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar warned, “If Britain acts against Israel, Israel will act against Britain.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich blasted the U.K. government on X, demanding: “Expel the British ambassador tonight! We will not be a doormat trampled by an antisemitic government … trying to save itself from economic and social decline.”
It’s not just Jerusalem fighting back. London is now staring down a multi-billion-dollar economic backlash in the United States.
Florida GOP Rep. Randy Fine delivered a fiery reality check, warning that Florida law (§287.135) strictly penalizes entities participating in anti-Israel boycotts. Fine noted the exact same law forced Airbnb to back down, adding, “They should understand that their vanity project in support of Muslim terror could cost them billions of dollars.”
Great Britain’s latest anti-Israel action fits a long, dark historical pattern. Declassified records show British Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden deliberately blocked a secret U.S. rescue mission aimed at saving concentration camp victims in 1944 out of fear survivors would emigrate to their ancestral homeland. Britain shut Palestine’s doors on fleeing Holocaust victims, blockaded survivor ships like the Exodus 1947, and even commanded Arab forces during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence.
History may be repeating itself in Western Europe’s leftist governments, but modern Israel isn’t backing down. Now, with Patriots for Europe charging to Israel’s defense in Europe alongside fierce allies in the U.S., the anti-Israel schemers may face an electoral reckoning.
