Elon Musk Visits U.S. Southern Border To Highlight Biden’s Border Crisis
X owner Elon Musk visited the U.S. southern border on Thursday to draw attention to how President Joe Biden’s policies have sparked a catastrophe as hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flood into the U.S. every month.
Musk toured the border at Eagle Pass with Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) as well as local law enforcement and border officials. Eagle Pass declared a state of emergency last week after thousands of illegal aliens entered the small town.
The billionaire, who came to the U.S. from South Africa, said that while he was “extremely pro-immigrant” he does not believe those who come into the U.S. illegally should be allowed in because they are “breaking the law.”
“To be clear, we’re both very much in favor of expanded legal immigration. I think anyone who is hardworking and honest and is really gonna add to the economy, we should let them in,” Musk said. “But what we’re seeing here are in some cases some pretty extreme individuals coming through.”
Musk said that large number of illegal aliens coming into the U.S. were “leading to a collapse of social services where even America’s largest city, New York, is buckling under the pressure of just how many illegal immigrants are going to New York.”
“If New York can’t handle it, well, pretty much no part of the country can,” Musk continued. “So if we don’t do something soon, we’re just gonna have, like I said, a collapse in social services as we’re already seeing in New York.”
One local sheriff told Musk that the situation on the border became dire once Biden became president and that his policies were an “invitation” for migrants to come to the border.

Musk’s visit to the border comes as border agents had 232,972 encounters at the southern border last month, an increase of about 50,000 from the previous month.

The high number of crossings has continued into September, with tens of thousands of illegal immigrants coming through Eagle Pass. The Biden administration, which has sued to stop Texas from erecting a water barrier in the Rio Grande to deter illegal crossings, has also been accused of cutting razor wire put up by Texas in Eagle Pass to secure the border.
At the same time as crossings remain high, the Biden administration has reportedly flown over 200,000 illegal immigrants to airports throughout the U.S. and the administration continues to push for more legal immigration from countries where many of the illegal immigrants are currently coming from.
