On season 2 of his hit show “Atlanta,” actor Donald Glover dressed in whiteface to play a creepy, eccentric millionaire named Teddy Perkins, who has a bizarre encounter with the character Darius (Lakeith Stanfield). Some have likened Perkins to Michael Jackson, though the writers claimed the King of Pop was just one of many inspirations for the character. To add some mystery, the credits of the episode did not list Glover as the actor, claiming instead that Perkins played himself.
Wearing a wig and white makeup, Glover appeared as Perkins once again on Monday on the front row at the Emmys, where Glover was nominated for five awards.
