<p>President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and most all other Democrats who showed up to Biden&#8217;s first State of the Union address on Tuesday did so without their masks.</p>
<p>The extremely recent change, which Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) mocked as a &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/its-a-state-of-the-union-miracle-cruz-mocks-white-house-dropping-mask-requirement-hours-before-bidens-sotu">State of the Union Miracle</a>,&#8221; comes after leading Democrats have insisted masks are effective and essential, and anyone who questions this is a &#8220;moron&#8221; &#8212; to borrow a word from Rep. Pelosi.</p>
<p>Back in July, Pelosi reportedly called Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy a &#8220;moron&#8221; after he criticized a mask mandate in the House.</p>
<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s such a moron,&#8221; Pelosi said about McCarthy, CNN <a href="https://www.kdrv.com/archive/pelosi-to-say-not-wearing-a-mask-is-based-on-science-is-not-wise/article_971e3dd5-aed4-56b2-9c9d-2130fd8bcf3b.html">reported</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;Make no mistake — The threat of bringing masks back is not a decision based on science, but a decision conjured up by liberal government officials who want to continue to live in a perpetual pandemic state,&#8221; McCarthy pointed out, drawing venom from Pelosi.</p>
<p>Pelosi, of course, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-admits-breaking-lockdown-for-salon-visit-blames-business-says-she-did-nothing-wrong">spotted</a> breaking city lockdown rules back in 2020 to get her hair done indoors at a San Francisco salon, at times without wearing a mask. The Democrat blamed the salon owner after she was caught.</p>
<p>President Biden also showed up without a mask on. Notably, the president has ridiculed Republicans who have battled mask mandates, instead, for instance, working to allow parents to choose if their child wears a mask all day at school.</p>
<p>&#8220;Speaking from the White House, Biden sharply criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and other officials who have moved to block the reimposition of mask mandates to slow the delta strain of the virus,&#8221; NBC Miami reported in August.</p>
<p>&#8220;If you’re not going to help, at least get out of the way of people trying to do the right thing,&#8221; Biden <a href="https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/biden-chides-desantis-other-republican-governors-resisting-covid-19-rules/2518646/">chided</a> DeSantis and Abbott.</p>
<p>It was just last month that Biden cautioned against children being able to take off their masks in schools, too. Children generally have far lower risk with COVID-19 than adults.</p>
<p>Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) went to the address without a mask, too.</p>
<p>Waters, who scolded former President Donald Trump about masking, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-maxine-waters-goes-maskless-on-cross-country-united-flight-after-bumping-passenger-from-window-seat">spotted</a> maskless on an airplane in December, despite the FAA mask mandate in place requiring all passengers to wear one.</p>
<p>“Take a chance. Remind an unmasked person to put on a mask &amp; if they become angry, smile and say ‘6ft away’ &amp; keep going,&#8221; Waters tweeted in April 2020.</p>

Not wearing a mask and not social distancing is dangerous,” the Democrat tweeted in May 2020. “Do not follow his example. Protect yourself. Coronavirus kills! Maybe this ignoramus doesn’t care, but you should care about yourself!”</p>
