<p>Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) told the liberal hosts of ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; that he believed a pardon was called for in &#8220;the trial in New York&#8221; for President-elect Donald Trump, saying that it was a clear example of a politically motivated prosecution.</p>
<p>Fetterman joined the cohosts of the midday talk show on Thursday, and the discussion turned to President Joe Biden&#8217;s Thanksgiving weekend pardon of his embattled son, Hunter Biden. Fetterman also claimed that the case against Hunter Biden — which was brought by a special prosecutor and President Biden&#8217;s Justice Department — was politically motivated, arguing that pardons would be reasonable in both cases.</p>
<p>&#8220;So, Senator, President Biden&#8217;s decision to pardon his son Hunter is facing bipartisan backlash. Even the Democrats are all over it. But what do you think?&#8221; host Joy Behar asked, attempting to downplay the pardon. &#8220;Is this much ado about nothing? It is his son, after all, and people do have sympathy for that, but a lot of people are angry with him about that. What do you say?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s undeniable that the case against Hunter Biden was really politically motivated but I also think it&#8217;s true that the trial in New York for Trump, that was political as well too,&#8221; Fetterman replied. &#8220;In both cases, I think a pardon is appropriate. And I really think collectively America&#8217;s confidence in these kinds of institutions have been damaged by these kinds of cases.&#8221;</p>

<p>Behar jumped back into the conversation, fretting that the same argument could be made about the people facing charges and prison time for crimes related to January 6th.</p>

<p>&#8220;They&#8217;ll say that about the J-6 people too though, right? That&#8217;s what they&#8217;re going to say on the other side,&#8221; she complained. &#8220;That that is weaponized also.&#8221;</p>
<p>Fetterman pushed back, saying he wasn&#8217;t going that far with the argument: &#8220;I&#8217;m not referring to that. I&#8217;m talking about the New York trial and now — the Democrats, on our side, there were some that were gleeful calling it — well, &#8216;now he&#8217;s a convicted felon,'&#8221; Fetterman continued, arguing that it made Democrats look dishonest when they claimed to be in favor of things like criminal justice reform and second chances while celebrating Trump&#8217;s conviction and arguing that he did not deserve a moment&#8217;s grace for anything.</p>
<p>The cohosts of &#8220;The View,&#8221; whether Fetterman realized it or not, were among those Democrats who gleefully crowed about the fact that Trump had been convicted in the New York case, and went out of their way to refer to him as a &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-felt-like-i-won-the-view-hosts-are-absolutely-giddy-as-they-celebrate-trump-verdict" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted felon</a>&#8221; as often as possible.</p>
<p>&#8220;I felt like America won! I felt like I won!&#8221; cohost Sunny Hostin said after the verdict was announced.</p>
