Actress Demi Moore’s new book set for release at the end of the month details hardships in her marriage with fellow actor Ashton Kutcher. Moore expresses regret for engaging in threesomes with Kutcher, which she said were later used against her as an excuse for the actor’s cheating.
“I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be,” Moore wrote in “Inside Out,” according to Radar Online.
“Moore wrote that in 2010, she saw media reports claiming Kutcher, 41, met a 21-year-old woman while bowling with her daughter Rumer Willis, and cheated on her in his marital home while Moore was out of town filming a movie,” Page Six reported. “When she confronted him, he brought up their threesomes as a defense.”
Moore, 56, noted that Kutcher used the sexual experiences to “deflect blame” for his cheating. “Because we had brought a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he’d done,” she said.
The “Ghost” actress also recalled learning about Kutcher’s alleged cheating from a Google alert. “I felt sick to my stomach,” she wrote.
Moore suffered a miscarriage during the couple’s marriage, which lasted until 2013. After losing their child, Moore “started drinking again and blamed herself for the loss,” The New York Times reported. The duo tried to conceive via in vitro fertilization following the loss, the outlet noted.
Adultery is, alas, hardly uncommon in Hollywood circles. As reported by The Daily Wire’s Paul Bois on Wednesday, “Silicon Valley” star Thomas Middleditch claimed that “swinging” “saved” his marriage.
In an interview with “Playboy,” Middleditch said he told his wife after their marriage that traditional monogamy was not working out for him.
“Only after I got married was I like, ‘Mollie, I’m sorry, but we have to get non-traditional here,'” he told the magazine. “To her credit, instead of saying ‘F***k you, I’m out,’ she was like, ‘Let’s figure this out.'”
“To be honest, swinging has saved our marriage,” the actor claimed. “We have different speeds, and we argue over it constantly, but it’s better than feeling unheard and alone and that you have to scurry in the shadows.”
“I’m sexual,” Middleditch continued. “I’d always thought I was a romantic and that when I fall in love, that stuff fades away. It does for some years — enough to be like, ‘I should get married, and I’ll be different.’ But it’s part of me. If that’s part of your being and it feels important to you, find a way to explore it, because repression sucks.”
For his wife, however, things are not so peachy, from his own admission.
“Personally, that’s one of the trickier elements of it all, because Mollie doesn’t get that and yet she has to witness it. I’m like, ‘Come on, what about this chick who’s obviously really into me?’ And Mollie will say, ‘Yeah, she’s into you. Where do I fit in?’ That question comes up,” he told “Playboy.”
“There’s a lot of negotiation, and adding fame sometimes makes it easier and sometimes complicates things,” added Middleditch.
