Deleting Evidence? Ilhan Omar Scrubs Post That Links Marriage To Her Immediate Family

Embattled Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar scrubbed a post from her social media that identifies her father, a key piece of evidence tpwards the claim that she married her brother.

Omar deleted a 2013 post that said, “Happy Father’s Day to my aabo Nur Said, I am forever grateful to Allah for giving me the best father,” according to the New York Post. “Aabo” is the word for father in Somali, Omar’s native language.

The post shows that her father’s name closely matches the name of her ex-husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who is alleged to be related to Omar. Federal investigators say that Omar’s real name is, in fact, Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.

Omar married Elmi in 2009. Since then, her critics have claimed Elmi is her brother, and that the marriage was an attempt to get him a green card, which he never obtained.

When asked directly if she had married her brother, Omar replied, “Not to my knowledge.”

On Friday, Omar assured reporters that her name had always been Ilhan Omar. “Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, you know it,” Omar told Fox News Digital before she headed into prayers on Friday. “It’s Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.

She claimed the Department of Justice calling her Illhan Nur Said Elmi was another example of their “corrupt” behavior.

“The pedophile protection party’s president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history,” Omar said. “Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let’s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar.”

The Department of Justice searched her home last week as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into Omar. Hours later they left with seventeen of her personal items, including her phone.

Through her attorneys, she demanded that the Department of Justice return her personal items. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice Emily Covington said, “Our attorneys and law enforcement partners complied with all court orders and legal obligations, as they always do.”

She announced on Wednesday that she would be moving out of her Washington, D.C. home saying that the raid made her feel unsafe.

“Obviously, I can’t continue to live there,” Omar said in an interview. “So, we have to figure out where to move to because our address has been public, and with the death threats that I deal with, it’s no longer going to be feasible to be in that house and have my kids visiting off and on, having people track them.”

“I’m confident in my truth,” Omar said. “I’m confident in the fact that I didn’t do anything wrong.”
