<p>University of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders announced on Monday that he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer — and that he had undergone a successful surgery to remove the tumor.</p>
<p>Sanders gave a <a href="https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45843439/colorado-coach-deion-sanders-said-battled-bladder-cancer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press conference</a> at the Touchdown Club in the Dal Ward Athletic Center on Monday to update the public on his health, and urged everyone to &#8220;get checked out.&#8221; Sanders appeared alongside Dr. Janet Kukreja, director of urological oncology at University of Colorado Cancer Center, to make the announcement and take questions.</p>
<p>Kukreja began by touting the success of the surgery, saying that Sanders had been declared &#8220;cancer free&#8221; after the surgery was completed. &#8220;The results from the surgery are that he is cured from the cancer.&#8221;</p>
<p>After a brief pause, Sanders quipped, &#8220;You can clap, it&#8217;s ok.&#8221;</p>
<p>The audience laughed and applauded.</p>

<p>&#8220;It was dynamic. It was tough. It wasn&#8217;t a cakewalk. It wasn&#8217;t easy. That was a fight, but we made it,&#8221; Sanders said, adding, &#8220;You have no idea how good God has been to me.&#8221;</p>
<p>Questions have swirled about Sanders and his health since his son, Deion Sanders Jr., posted a video over the summer in which he could be heard talking about a &#8220;health issue&#8221; he was dealing with: &#8220;I ain&#8217;t all the way recovered.&#8221;</p>
<p>He opted not to address any health-related questions at Big 12 Media Days, further fueling speculation about his condition.</p>
<p>Sanders said on Monday that throughout the ordeal, he has also lost 25 pounds — but that he was ready to return to coaching for the 2025-2026 season.</p>
<p>He followed with a message to the crowd, calling on them to &#8220;get checked out.&#8221;</p>

<p>If late night comedy on network television is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/late-night-collapse-colberts-fall-and-the-death-of-balanced-comedy">dying</a>, NBC host and comedian Seth Meyers may have inadvertently revealed one of the reasons for that — and admitted that he has played a part in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cbs-host-breaks-ranks-offers-surprisingly-sane-reason-for-colberts-ouster">bringing that about</a>.</p>
<p>Meyers told host Dax Shepard on his &#8220;Armchair Expert&#8221; podcast that his goal — as the host of &#8220;Late Night with Seth Meyers&#8221; — is to make sure that his show is &#8220;cathartic&#8221; for him while he&#8217;s making it and for the audience as they&#8217;re watching it.</p>

<p>Shepard began by pointing to the obvious left-leaning nature of Meyers&#8217; show, asking whether he felt like people who agreed with him came to watch his show because they found it comforting in a way. What he didn&#8217;t say aloud was that having a show that leaned so far in one particular direction could potentially alienate half of the country.</p>
<p>&#8220;Have you felt over the years that it&#8217;s a bit of a dog whistle for people to come commiserate with you in a way that you&#8217;re like, ‘Ugh,’ I don&#8217;t, let&#8217;s put it this way. I have my own political opinions. I find one of the most boring things in the world is to hear someone else&#8217;s political opinions because there&#8217;s only two, but everyone&#8217;s saying it as if they thought of it themselves and it&#8217;s novel,&#8221; Shepard said. &#8220;No. You just declared you&#8217;re on that side. I get it. So, I would imagine people find you in restaurants and they want to bond over that with you.&#8221;</p>
<p>Meyers agreed, but went on to take the argument a bit further — saying that ultimately it didn&#8217;t matter if he was changing the minds of people who did not agree with him and suggesting that his show might inspire more of the people who do agree with him to get out and vote.</p>
<p>&#8220;Early on, people would say, ‘Do you really think you&#8217;re changing anyone&#8217;s mind?’ And it was ‘no.’  I would like to think that maybe we could, like, if someone&#8217;s like, ‘Should I vote or not?’ You would want to maybe if they watch our show, they think ‘You know what, I am going to get out and cast a ballot,'&#8221; he claimed.</p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah. Yeah. But I think you&#8217;d be hard-pressed to find someone in America that doesn&#8217;t know how they feel about Trump,&#8221; Shepard replied. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s one left.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think that for us, we want to make a show that&#8217;s both cathartic to do and cathartic to watch,&#8221; Meyers continued, making it clear that he viewed his show as a place for liberal opinion first and comedy second — if at all.</p>

Seth Meyers Helped Kill Late Night Comedy: Here’s How

<p>President Donald Trump took to social media on Tuesday to deny any involvement in the ouster of CBS late-night comedian Stephen Colbert, whose stint on &#8220;The Late Show&#8221; is set to end in May of 2026.</p>
<p>Trump made the <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114938657898917536">comment</a> first on his Truth Social platform, arguing that Colbert&#8217;s downfall was not the result of any demand he made or any action he took — instead saying that the longtime host had become &#8220;a victim to himself&#8221; because he wasn&#8217;t funny enough to get decent ratings.</p>
<p>&#8220;Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night. That is not true!&#8221; Trump posted. &#8220;The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE!&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump cited reports that Colbert, despite bringing in some $60 million in advertising for his show, had operated at a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/go-f-yourself-colbert-unleashes-anti-trump-tirade-amid-report-his-show-loses-40m-annually">$40 million loss</a> because &#8220;The Late Show&#8221; had an annual price tag of $100 million.</p>
<p>He then went on to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jimmy-kimmel-is-next-trump-keeps-pouring-salt-into-open-wound-after-colbert-ouster">repeat his claim</a> that Colbert would not be the only casualty with regard to late-night comedy, saying that comedians Jimmy Kimmel (&#8220;The Jimmy Kimmel Show&#8221; on ABC) and Jimmy Fallon (&#8220;The Tonight Show&#8221; on NBC) would be the next dominos to fall.</p>
<p>&#8220;Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon,&#8221; he predicted. &#8220;The only real question is, who will go first? Show Biz and Television is a very simple business. If you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don’t, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump was responding to a number of people who have attempted to claim that Colbert was let go because of the ongoing merger with Paramount or due to the lawsuit that was just settled between Trump and the network over a creatively-edited interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. Senator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dont-question-my-integrity-spartacus-returns-in-dramatic-senate-floor-showdown-for-jersey">Cory Booker</a> (D-NJ) even claimed on the Senate floor on Tuesday that Colbert had been pulled off the air — despite the fact that he will remain with the network and continue to host the show until next May — because he made jokes about Trump.</p>

Trump Denies Responsibility For Colbert Ouster: He ‘Became A Victim To Himself’

<p>Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) took to the Senate floor on Tuesday and scolded members of his own party — in particular, Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV) — over their support for bipartisan police funding bills.</p>
<p>The fight began when Klobuchar and Cortez-Masto pushed for the bills — which would provide law enforcement with trauma kits and cover family death benefits — to pass by unanimous consent. Booker immediately proposed an amendment that would force public safety resources to be divided between states without any consideration for political leaning.</p>
<p>Both Klobuchar and Cortez-Masto pushed back, saying that while they agreed funding should not be withheld for political reasons, Booker should have brought up the amendment during the markup process instead of waiting until the last minute.</p>
<p>&#8220;Tacking on a poison pill language to these bills won’t guarantee any additional funding makes it to New Jersey, Nevada, or any other state. Instead what it will do, it will keep critical bills from passing in the first place. You gotta question what is going on here,&#8221; Cortez-Masto said, clearly suggesting that Booker was grandstanding.</p>
<p>Booker objected, saying that Trump had threatened to withhold funding from sanctuary states after the bills in question had already gone through that process. He then pivoted to attack his own party for not doing enough to stand up to Trump.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Democratic Party needs a wake-up call,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>Booker accused law firms, colleges, and even media networks of &#8220;bending the knee&#8221; to Trump, claiming that Stephen Colbert — who was ousted from his gig at &#8220;The Late Show&#8221; over a reported $40 million loss — was taken &#8220;off the air because [he] dared to insult a president.&#8221;</p>
<p>He continued in that vein, getting progressively louder and more animated until he was shouting: &#8220;It&#8217;s time for Democrats to have a backbone. It&#8217;s time for us to fight. It&#8217;s time for us to draw lines. Don&#8217;t question my integrity. Don&#8217;t question my motives. I&#8217;m standing for Jersey! I am standing for my police officers. I&#8217;m standing for the Constitution, and I&#8217;m standing for what&#8217;s right. And dear God, if you want to come at me that way, you&#8217;re going to have to take it up with me.&#8221;</p>
<p>Booker didn&#8217;t stop there, but instead started shouting about rights being taken away and &#8220;secret police&#8221; who he claimed were &#8220;running around this country&#8221; and taking people off the street who were in the country legally.</p>
<p>He concluded by saying that if Democrats didn&#8217;t &#8220;stand together,&#8221; they would &#8220;deserve to lose.&#8221;</p>

‘Don’t Question My Integrity!’: Spartacus Returns In Dramatic Senate Floor Showdown ‘For Jersey’

<p>Comedian Bill Maher ate a little crow during a recent episode of his &#8220;Club Random&#8221; podcast, conceding that he&#8217;d been firmly on the wrong side with a prediction he&#8217;d made earlier in President Donald Trump&#8217;s current term.</p>
<p>Maher, who hosted YouTuber Bryan Tyler Cohen for Monday&#8217;s episode, reminded his audience that he&#8217;d predicted that Trump&#8217;s tariff plan would result in economic disaster — probably before the Fourth of July had come and gone — but that had not happened.</p>

<p>Cohen suggested that for commentators on the Left, the &#8220;onus&#8221; was on them to &#8220;filter&#8221; through what President Donald Trump said in order to stay on top of the issues that were really important.</p>
<p>&#8220;First of all, be honest. Don&#8217;t just be partisan,&#8221; Maher offered his advice on that front. &#8220;I will always call it as I see it, no matter what it is, and I don&#8217;t care who likes it or doesn&#8217;t. That&#8217;s my bond with the audience. It&#8217;s worked for me pretty well.&#8221;</p>
<p>Maher then fell on his own sword a bit, admitting to getting things wrong when he — along with many others —predicted that Trump&#8217;s threatened tariffs would tank the economy.</p>
<p>&#8220;I remember I, along with probably most people, were saying at the beginning, oh, you know, by the Fourth of July — somebody had a thing out about how the economy was gonna be tanked by then. And I was kinda like, &#8216;Well, that seems right to me,&#8217; but that didn&#8217;t happen,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;Now, it could happen tomorrow. I&#8217;m just saying, that&#8217;s reality.&#8221;</p>
<p>Maher went on to argue that Democrats were missing the point if they still believed that simply declaring their opposition to Trump amounted to a political strategy.</p>
<p>&#8220;&#8216;I just hate Donald Trump.&#8217; &#8230; That&#8217;s boring and doesn&#8217;t get us anywhere and leads you to dishonesty,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;Because the truth is, I don&#8217;t know what his strategy is. But look, the stock market is at record highs. I don&#8217;t see a country in a depression at all. I see people out there just living their lives, and I would have thought — and I gotta own it — that these tariffs were going to f***ing sink this economy by this time, and they didn&#8217;t.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So, you know, how do we deal with that fact? Because that&#8217;s the fact,&#8221; he went on, arguing that Democrats needed to base their strategy on reality rather than just retreating to their partisan corners.</p>
<p>During the same episode, Maher took a similar tone when he revealed the biggest mistake he thought Democrats were making.</p>

<p>Popular radio host Charlamagne tha God highlighted the obvious double standard on display in the way media outlets cover President Donald Trump compared to the way they cover almost anyone else — but especially Democrats — using the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein as an example.</p>
<p>During his radio show &#8220;The Breakfast Club&#8221; on Tuesday, he pointed out the fact that former President Bill Clinton had been repeatedly linked to Epstein — but it was any connection to Trump, no matter how nebulous or even benign — that was poked, prodded, and explored ad nauseam by American media outlets.</p>

Like — it&#8217;s just simple as that, mutually assured destruction, whoever&#8217;s on that list needs to go, nobody needs to be protecting pedophiles, I don&#8217;t care what party they are.&#8221;</p>
<p>Morgyn Wood, White House correspondent for the Black Information Network, weighed in then, arguing that Trump was only in the spotlight because he happened to be the sitting President of the United States. She failed to mention the fact that when former President Joe Biden was in office, legacy media outlets had showed an aggressive lack of curiosity in his obvious cognitive decline.</p>
<p>&#8220;No, period. And you know, to that point, though, you know Clinton is not the president right now,&#8221; Wood protested. &#8220;You know, if he was, you think that — anyways, yeah. I think he would still be under scrutiny if he was the president right now.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;No, he wouldn&#8217;t — because liberal media wouldn&#8217;t push the issue,&#8221; Charlamagne shot back.</p>

<p>President Donald Trump recalled the exact moment that he declared the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to be &#8220;persona non grata&#8221; — and informed him that he was no longer welcome at Mar-a-Lago.</p>
<p>Trump delivered the statement on Monday during a joint press conference — which included British Prime Minister Keir Starmer — at his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland. He initially dismissed a question about how he and Epstein fell out, calling it &#8220;such old history&#8221; — but then answered the query anyway.</p>

<p>&#8220;And by the way, I never went to the island,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And Bill Clinton went there, supposedly, 28 times. I never went to the island, but Larry Summers, I hear, went there, he was the head of Harvard. And many other people that were very big people, nobody ever talks about them.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I never had the privilege of going to his island. And I did turn it down,&#8221; Trump repeated. &#8220;But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn’t want to go to his island.&#8221;</p>
