<p>Disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) announced on Monday that he was officially launching an independent campaign to become the next mayor of New York City.</p>
<p>Cuomo <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andrew-cuomo-falls-to-radical-socialist-zohran-mamdani-in-nyc-mayoral-primary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost the primary</a> to self-described Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani in late June, and rumors have swirled since then about the potential for him to run as an independent or third-party candidate.</p>
<p>&#8220;In it to win it,&#8221; Cuomo captioned his video.</p>

<p>&#8220;Hello. I&#8217;m Andrew Cuomo,&#8221; he said in the attached video. &#8220;And unless you&#8217;ve been living under a rock, you probably know that the Democratic primary did not go the way I had hoped.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cuomo offered his thanks to the New Yorkers who had voted for him before turning the attack on Mamdani: &#8220;Thank you for believing in me and in my agenda and my experience, and I am truly sorry that I let you down. But as my grandfather used to say, when you get knocked down, learn the lesson and pick yourself back up and get in the game — and that is what I&#8217;m going to do.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The fight to save our city isn&#8217;t over,&#8221; he continued, noting that barely over one-tenth of the city&#8217;s voters had cast a ballot in the June primary. &#8220;The general election is in November, and I am in it to win it. My opponent, Mr. Mamdani, offers slick slogans but no real solutions. We need a city with lower rent, safer streets, where buying your first home is once again possible, where child care won&#8217;t bankrupt you.&#8221;</p>
<p>But according to a new poll — shared by The Manhattan Institute&#8217;s Jesse Arm — Cuomo&#8217;s support is sitting at 24% to Mamdani&#8217;s 40%. Current Mayor Eric Adams, who initially won as a Democrat, is polling at 15% and Republican Curtis Sliwa is pulling 14% support.</p>
<p>As Arm noted, if the ultimate goal was to stop a socialist from gaining power in New York City, then the obvious solution was for two or more of the remaining candidates to join forces.</p>
<p>&#8220;If Cuomo &amp; Adams joined forces, they <span class="r-b88u0q r-36ujnk">could</span> beat Mamdani. If Cuomo, Adams, &amp; Sliwa joined forces, they <span class="r-b88u0q r-36ujnk">would</span> beat Mamdani.
