‘Deepfakes’: Pornhub Bans Fake Celebrity Porn Videos

   DailyWire.com

In the era of fighting “fake news,” fighting fake porn is a thing. Pornhub is leading the way in this battle, apparently, and has announced a ban on all fake celebrity porn videos posted to their platform.

Called “deepfakes,” this revolution in fake porn would employ “machine learning” software to superimpose celebrity faces, like that of Gal Gadot and Scarlett Johansson, onto the bodies of real porn actors.

According to Motherboard, the “deepfakes” community hoped Pornhub would be a safe haven for their materials. Sadly, their hopes were dashed on Tuesday when the site, which has 75 million visitors a day, deemed the “deepfakes” nonconsensual porn.

“We do not tolerate any nonconsensual content on the site and we remove all said content as soon as we are made aware of it,” a PornHub spokesperson told Motherboard. “Nonconsensual content directly violates our TOS [terms of service] and consists of content such as revenge porn, deepfakes or anything published without a person’s consent or permission.”

Pornhub vice president Corey Price said, “Users have started to flag content like this and we are taking it down as soon as we encounter the flags. We encourage anyone who encounters this issue to visit our content removal page so they can officially make a request.”

“Content that is flagged on Pornhub that directly violates our terms of service is removed as soon as we are made aware of it. This includes non-consensual content,” he continued.

“To further ensure the safety of all our fans, we officially took a hard stance against revenge porn, which we believe is a form of sexual assault, and introduced a submission form for the easy removal of non-consensual content.”

Discord and Gfycat have employed similar policies that ban content which either “impersonates another person or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person.”

Despite the gesture, Motherboard notes that “Pornhub is still loaded with deepfakes.”

“I was able to easily find dozens of deepfakes posted in the last few days, many under the search term ‘deepfakes’ or with deepfakes and the name of celebrities in the title of the video,” the outlet reported.

According to The Independent, Twitter has also announced a ban on “deepfakes,” threatening to suspend accounts originating the material. Reddit also advised its users to not post images of videos of “any person in a state of nudity or engaged in any act of sexual conduct” without their permission, “including depictions that have been faked”.
